The Dalles Daily Chronicle, August 8, 1995
Lora Lee Breidenback, 91, a resident of Fresno, Calif. and formerly of The 
Dalles, died in the California city on Aug. 2, 1995.

She was born May 20, 1904 in Valley Head, Ala., the oldest of five children to 
Franklin T. and Nancy (Bunnell) Thorneberry.

She grew up and married her husband, William Gardner, on Nov. 19, 1923 in 
Valley Head.  After his death in 1956 she married John Breidenback.

She lived in Alabama and New Mexico before moving to Oregon in 1943.

She had retired from Sawyer's Department Store where she had worked for 25 
years.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 45 years and was also past president 
of the Degree of Honor.  She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed 
spending time with her family and reading.

Survivors include four children, Clifford Gardner of Truth or Consequences, 
N.M.; Bill Gardner of Cannon Beach; Joanne Wendland, Fresno; and Leonard 
Gardner, Salem; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and her 
brother Albert Thorneberry of Tucumcari, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill and her second husband, 
John, and a daughter, Vivian Weniger.

Graveside funeral services will be at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery at 11 a.m. on 
Saturday, August 12.

Memorials may be made to Emanuel Baptist Church Memorial Fund, sent in care of 
Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home.
