     Arthur “Art” LeRoy Brickett, 92, a resident of The Dalles, died at a 
local care facility Friday, Oct. 1, 2004.
     He was born and raised in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on Sept. 21, 1912, the only 
child to Ernest and Lura (Furnham) Brickett. 
     He married Rose E. Knight on Sept. 10, 1988 in Redding, Calif. He worked 
as a truck driver driving short haul, owned and operated his own tropical fish 
store and homesteaded a quarter section of farm land in Vermont in the 1940’s.
     He enjoyed going to the senior center, church, long walks outdoors and in 
the mall, boats, raising chinchillas, trying new things and going new places. 
He also liked to make up his own songs that he would sing to his family when 
he was driving, camping or when he was doing his experimental cooking.
     He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Rose Brickett, The Dalles; his 
daughters, Ruth Kisich; Charlene and her husband, Don Cole; seven 
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, all 
living in the San Francisco Bay area. 
     Memorial services will be held at Sovereign Grace Baptist Church, 1003 
Sunflower Street West The Dalles at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 8, with Pastor Norm 
Wells officiating. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt 
Crematory with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
     Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1112 West 9th 
Street, The Dalles, OR 97058.
