The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 8, 1983
     Kenneth Wayne Brooking, 22, a resident of Rufus, and a former resident of 
Yakima, Wash., died Saturday night in an automobile accident near Biggs.
     Brooking was born April 15, 1961.
     He worked at Middleton Service Station in Biggs.
     Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Brooking, Rufus; three sons, Bryan 
Les Brooking, Gerald Richard Allen Brooking and Christopher David Wayne 
Brooking, all of Rufus; his father, Gerald M. Brooking, Naples, Idaho; his 
mother, Gayle L. Durand, Yakima; his grandmother, Lillie Styer, Rufus; 
grandfather, Oscar Brooking, Naples; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Shook, 
Kent, Wash.; a brother, Gerald Oscar Brooking, Yakima; and two sisters, Bonnie 
LaRee Brooking, Yakima, and Marie Louise Nelson, Kent.
     Funeral services were today (Thursday) at Smith Callaway Chapel with the 
Rev. Tim Mockaitis officiating.
