The Dalles Chronicle, May 29, 2005
     Bertha Brown, 83, a resident of The Dalles, died at her home on 
Wednesday, May 26, 2005.
     She was born Dec. 17, 1921 in Kendrick, Idaho, the second of seven 
children to Frank and Stella Mae (Eatmon) Abrams. She was raised in Idaho and 
the family moved to Underwood and she attended schools in White Salmon. 
     She married Charles Erving Brown on June 25, 1960 in Stevenson and they 
lived in The Dalles where they raised their family. She worked for the U.S. 
Postal Service as a rural route mail carrier, retiring in 1984. 
     She enjoyed spending time with her family, flowers, animals, knitting and 
crocheting. 
     She is survived by her children, Deanna Molina and her husband, Abel, The 
Dalles; Marsha Taylor, Portland; Albert W. Prante and his wife, Betty, 
Wahkiacus, Wash.; Ronald Prante, Portland; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-
grandchildren; her brothers, Fred, Andy and Harry Abrams. She was preceded in 
death by her husband, Charles Brown; her two sisters, Dorothy and Betty; her 
brother, Frank, and grandchild Chance Kaseburg. 
     Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home 
from 2 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2005 and on Thursday from 9 a.m. to the 
beginning of the services. 
     Funeral services will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home 
at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2005. Interment will be held at Three Mile 
Road Odd Fellows Cemetery. 
     Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of The Gorge, 751 Myrtle 
Street, The Dalles, OR 97058.
