Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 21, 2006, 3:16 pm The Dalles Chronicle, March 1, 2006 Clifford Thomas Brown, 57, a former resident of Sherman County and a resident of Tonasket, Wash., died in a head-on collision about 50 miles from his home on Feb. 23, 2005. He was born Oct. 21, 1948 to James Thomas and Nora Cameron “Carmen: (Harrison) Brown. He had an older sister, Caroline Clarine, Wenatchee, Wash., and an older brother, Carter Henry, in Federal Way, Wash. He grew up in Sherman County. He enjoyed the outdoors, working with equipment, family history and swapping stories. He was a 12th degree Mason and a Shriner. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1967-68 and was in Vietnam. He enjoyed the people in Tonasket. He helped build an airport there and built up the gun club from a few people to around 70 members. He planted trees and built several gun ranges. A graveside memorial service will be held at the Grass Valley Cemetery at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 with Pastor Dick Keeney officiating.
