The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 29, 1984
Lena Caroline Brown, 72, a resident of Kent for 50 years died at her home 
Sunday.

She was born in Condon Feb. 5, 1912 and grew up in The Dalles.  She graduated 
from The Dalles High School in 1930.  She married Robert Brown in 1934 and 
they farmed in the Kent area.  He died in 1962.

She was a member of the Kent Baptist Church, worked for many years as a Cancer 
Society Volunteer and was active in the Sherman County Senior Citizens group.

She is survived by two sons, Harold, Wasco, and James B., Kent, and Margaret 
Aschoff, Boring; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, 
Floyd Lantis, Condon, and Dan Lantis, Dallas.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with the 
Rev. Glenn Anderson officiating.  Burial was at the Grass Valley Cemetery.

The casketbearers were Charles Bothwell, Vern Mobley, Arthur Decker, Bill 
Smith, Paul Sather and Phil von Borstel.

Memorials may be made to the Sherman County Senior Bus Fund or the Sherman 
County Historical Society.
