The Dalles Chronicle, March 4, 2004
     Helen Louise Brown, 81, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care 
facility Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004.
     She was born May 20, 1922, in Sterling, Colo., the youngest of six 
children to Harry F. and Elsie May (York) O’Neal. She was raised and married 
Rahlon O. Brown in Sterling on July 20, 1952. They lived there until moving to 
The Dalles in 1955.
     She was a charter member of Gateway Presbyterian Church and enjoyed 
homemaking and sewing.
     Helen is survived by her husband, Rahlon, The Dalles; her sister, Maxine 
O’Neal Hamilton, Tulsa, Okla.; her brother, Hugh N. O’Neal, Ft. Lupton, Colo.; 
several nieces and nephews; great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was 
preceded in death by her sister, Annabelle O’Neal Delaney and her brothers, 
Lloyd “Bus” O’Neal and S.F. “Babe” O’Neal.
     Graveside services will be held at The Dalles Three Mile Road Odd Fellows 
Cemetery, formerly known as Parklawn Cemetery on Friday, March 5, at 2 p.m. 
Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
