Bryson, 82, a former resident of The Dalles, died at her home in Quartzsite, Ariz., on April 5, 2004. She was born Sept. 26, 1921 in Big Spring, Texas. She lived in Texas, New Mexico, Montana, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming and Arizona. She lived in Wishram for about 20 years and her husband, J. D. Bryson worked on The Dalles Dam. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and embroidering. She made nearly all the clothing for her four daughters, crocheted afghans for her grandchildren and gave away dozens of sets of tea towels. She collected Avon bottles, dolls and pigs. She enjoyed the desert but enjoyed having her family around her even more. Survivors include her daughter, Sonia Evans, Ridgefield, Wash.; Sheryl Bell, Lodi, Calif.; Dixie Groves, Quartzsite; and Debra Jones, Oregon City; 11 grandchildren, including John Evans, The Dalles; 26 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Nell Clay, Hobbs, N.M. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters; her husband of 56 years, John, and one grandson. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Havasu or the American Cancer Society.
