The Dalles Chronicle, February 7, 2005
     Elmer Edgar “Ed” Buoy, 80, a resident of The Dalles, died at the local 
hospital on Friday, Feb. 4, 2005. 
     He was born April 27, 1924, in Creswell to Oliver Wendell and Dorothy 
Lois (Barnes) Buoy.
     During WWII he was a pilot in a B-24 bomber squadron in the European 
Theater. He saw air combat in the Balkans, Rhineland, Cenral Europe, the North 
Appenines, and the Po Valley in Italy.
     He played football for the University of Idaho Vandals, and later 
attended Washington State University in Pullman, graduating with degree in 
Mining Engineering.
     His mining career took him to many interesting places around the world.
     He married Audean Rousseau in Grants, N.M., in February of 1959. They 
moved to The Dalles in 1977 and made their home here until his death.
     He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and at one time was an avid bowler. Above 
all he cared for his family and his faith. He was a member of Covenant 
Christian Community in The Dalles.
     Survivors include his wife; his children, son Clay Buoy of The Dalles and 
daughter Gwen Worthington of Pocatello, Idaho; and his brother Glen Buoy of 
Spokane.
     Services in celebration of his life will be at the Covenant Christian 
Community Church at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7. 
     Interment will follow at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. 
Memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Christian Community, 2630 E. 
18th St., The Dalles, OR 97058. Arrangements are by Columbia Cremation & 
Burial.
