Clemens, 51, a former resident of The Dalles died Sept. 1, as a result of an airplane crash over The Dalles. Mr. Clemens was born June 8, 1933 in Tennessee. He lived in The Dalles for many years before moving to Hermiston 15 months ago. He was a sub-station operator at Umatilla for the Bonneville Power Administration. Mr. Clemens was a veteran in the USAF in the Korean War. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in The Dalles; of the Elks Lodge in Hermiston, and of Echo Golf Club, Hermiston. He is survived by his wife LaVon, Hermiston; his mother Inez Wahl, Woodsfield, Ohio; two sons; William G. Clemens, The Dalles, and James A. Clemens, Hermiston; a sister, Katherine Galaher, Woodsfield, Ohio; and two grandchildren. Funeral services were Wednesday, Sept. 5 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston.
