     Janice Louise Creighton, 62, a former resident of Goldendale, died at her 
home in Tacoma on Nov. 5, 2004.
     She was born in Minnesota on Oct. 29, 1942.
     Her family moved to Goldendale in 1944 and she attended school in 
Goldendale and graduated from Columbia High School in 1959.
     After high school she lived in California before returning to Goldendale 
in August 1995. Upon her return, she worked as a home health caretaker for a 
while before working at the American Legion in Goldendale.
     She moved on to work for Frosty’s Cafe in Rufus until she retired in 2003.
She married Mike Creighton on Feb. 18, 2000.
     She loved to do needlework, read, paint, attend sporting events, 
especially the Mariners, and go camping and Jeeping with her husband.
     She was a 14-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary and was also a 
member of the 8 ET 40.
     Survivors include her husband, Mike, Tacoma; her father, Loran Prothero, 
Goldendale; daughter, Shawn Gordon, California; siblings and their spouses, 
Lorana (Jess) McLain, Doty, Wash.; Bert (Rita) Prothero, Skagway, Alaska; 
Julie (Jamie) Gagner, Skagway; and Steve Nordwell, Goldendale; three 
grandchildren, Shannon, Judith and Sara; stepchildren, Susie Taber, Jani 
Wilson, Duke, Skeeter and Vincent Creighton; aunt, Margorie (Joe) Hollis, 
Gresham; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
     She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeri Lee Gordon; her mother, Lee 
Prothero; and two brothers, Lou Prothero and Kenneth Anderson.
     Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 4, at the American Legion 
Hall in Goldendale at 1 p.m.
     Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
