Wakley iwakley@msn.com December 26, 2006, 11:41 am The Dalles Weekly Reminder, June 7, 1984 William J. Dillon, 76, died May 30, at the Hood River Memorial Hospital. Mr. Dillon lived in Parkdale. Mr. Dillon was born March 19, 1908 in Montrose, Colo. He grew up in Colorado and moved to Oregon in 1937. He lived in the Mosier and Hood River Valley area and briefly in The Dalles for the past 35 years. He had lived in Parkdale since 1971. Mr. Dillon was the deputy sheriff at Mosier for several years and was a heavy equipment operator in construction work. He retired in 1983. He is survived by a son, Leo, Parkdale; a daughter, Lucille Worsham, Corbett; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild. He has two brothers, Snap Dillon, Home Valley, Wash., and Ike Dillon, Grande Ronde, and a sister Jessie Fern Kapptiz, Oregon City. Funeral services were held on Monday and burial followed at the Idlewild Cemetery in Hood River.
