The Dalles Weekly Reminder,  March 20, 1987
     Frank Duarte, 61, died in Walla Walla, Wash. March 13.  He was a resident 
of Umatilla, a former resident of The Dalles.
     Mr. Duarte was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Baker, Ore.  He was a World War II 
Army veteran and retired from Martin Marietta in 1975.
     He is survived by his mother, Mary Duarte of Cathlamet, Wash.; a brother, 
Ralph Duarte of Longview, Wash.; five sons, Larry, Dennis and Gary Duarte of 
the U.S. Navy, Long Beach, Calif., and Jeffrey Duarte of Grass Valley; four 
daughters, Luncinda Holbrook of Jefferson, Gorg., Susan M. Duarte and Jessie 
Duarte, both of The Dalles and Cynthia Duarte of Portland; 18 grandchildren 
and two great-grandchildren.
     Graveside service was held at Parklawn Cemetery.  Spencer, Libby and 
Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
