The Dalles Weekly Reminder, December 27, 1984
     Johnnie Elliott Jr., 58, died at his home in The Dalles, Dec. 20.
     He was born Jan. 7, 1926 in Ravenswood, W. VA.
     Mr. Elliott served in the U.S. Army and Navy in World War II.  He moved 
to The Dalles in 1965 and lived here until 1969, then left and returned here 
in 1978.
     Survivors include his wife, Hazel Jean, The Dalles; a son, Irwin Elliott, 
Hood River; a daughter, Sylvia Smith, The Dalles; five grandchildren, and his 
father Jonathan T. Elliott, Ripley, W. VA.
     Funeral services were Sunday at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home.  
Cremation was in Portland and entombment was at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery.
     The body lay in state from Sunday until the funeral.
