The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 18, 1988
Rex Bowman Ellis, 74, died March 11 at The Dalles.  Born March 3, 1914, Mr. 
Ellis was a resident of The Dalles since 1954.

He was a member of Rocky Ford Lodge AF&AM, past secretary; Scottish Rite, BPOE 
Elks, and The Dalles Moose.  Mr. Ellis worked for Auto Electric until his 
retirement.

Survivors include a son, Ralph Ellis of The Dalles; daughters:  Elladine Foley 
of San Diego, Calif.; Elloise M. Tatman of Rocky Ford, Colo.; a sister Maedine 
Ellis of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandchildren:  Eric Ellis, Christina Ellis, 
Deric Ellis, Robie Foley, Melissa Foley, David Fraser, Belinda Fraser, Deric 
Fraser and Laurie Fraser.  He was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Marie 
Ellis in 1970.

Graveside services with Masonic Rites were held March 12 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery 
with Lewis Gregory officiating.  Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of 
arrangements.  

The family suggests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in care 
of Smith Callaway Chapel.
