The Dalles Chronicle, September 7, 2006
     Fredrick Eugene Ellis, 74, a resident of Wamic, died at a local care 
facility on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006.

     He was born in Myrtle Point on Jan. 29, 1932, the youngest of four 
children to George and Lena (Barkdoll) Ellis. He grew up in Myrtle Point, 
where he attended school. 

     He married Gloria Oliver and they were later divorced. He then married 
Elsie Bennick. He worked as a logger for the forestry industry.

     He is survived by his two sons, Joseph Ellis, Klamath Falls, and George 
Ellis, Redmond; his daughter, Deborah Kjelland, Sacramento, Calif.; his 
brother, Edwin Ellis, Redmond; his sister, Viola Carter, McMinnville; his 
grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

     He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie.

     Graveside services will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at the 
Dufur Valley Cemetery with Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of 
arrangements.
