     Roy Robert Ellison, 88, a lifelong resident of The Dalles, died at a 
Portland hospital on Monday, May 17, 2004.
     He was born May 31, 1915, in the family home on Mill Creek Road near The 
Dalles. He was the third of five children to Frank and Grace (Brace) Ellison, 
grew up in the Mill Creek area and attended The Dalles High School.
     He married Ella Mae Beaumaster on July 14, 1946, in Vancouver, Wash. She 
died in December 1994.
     He farmed and was a member of the Painter’s Union and worked for many 
years as a painter on heavy construction as well as homes. He enjoyed the 
outdoors, his farm, hunting and fishing.
     He is survived by one son and his wife, George and Deanna Ellison; and 
his daughter, Marion Miller, all of The Dalles; grandchildren, Geanna Ellison, 
Eugene; Ken Miller Jr., Pendleton; two sisters, Ruth Smith, Dufur; Dorothy 
James and his longtime companion, Irene Gray, both of The Dalles. He was also 
preceded in death by his brother, Buck and his sister, Frances.
     Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home 
on Thursday, May 20, 2004 from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
     Graveside services will be held at The Dalles Odd Fellows Cemetery on 
Three Mile Road, formerly known as Parklawn Cemetery, on Friday, May 21, at 2 
p.m. with Asa Jenson officiating. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home is in 
care of arrangements.
     Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 2120 First Avenue 
North, Seattle, WA 98109 or American Stroke Association, 4414 Woodland Park 
Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98103.
