The Dalles Chronicle, March 31, 2006
     Alvin “Bud” Everett Elson, 86, a resident of The Dalles since 1990, died 
at a local hospital Wednesday, March 29, 2006.
     He was born March 12, 1920, in Brush, Colo., one of three children to 
Everett Alvin and Marie Elson. At a young age, he moved with his parents to 
Wyoming and grew up and graduated from high school in Worland.
     He served in the US Army during World War II in the African-Italy 
campaign, and then went to Denver to work. In 1946, he came to Goshen to work 
in a sawmill, and then moved to Redmond to operate his dairy farm.
     He married Zelma Bourland in 1950, in Redmond. She preceded him in death.
     He was formerly a member of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion, and 
enjoyed working, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.
     He is survived by his companion, Lillian Preston, The Dalles; his step-
sons, Bud Lindhorst, The Dalles; Bob Lindhorst, Arizona; and Don Lindhorst, 
California; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, sister; Betty 
Peterson, Redmond; and nieces, Betty, Los Angeles; and Karen, South Dakota. 
     He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and wife.
     Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 3, at The Dalles 
Threemile Road IOOF Cemetery with Asa Jenson officiating. Spencer, Libby & 
Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
     Remembrances may be made to American Heart Association, 710 2nd Ave, 
Suite 900 Seattle, WA 98104.
