Doris L. Endersby, 74, a long-time resident of the Tygh Valley (Oregon) area, died Monday, February 25, 2003 at her home. She was born February 18, 1929 in Prineville, Oregon to Ralph and Florence (Carey) Delco and grew up on Smock Prairie near Tygh Valley. After WWII she married Delbert Endersby on August 5, 1948 in Goldendale (Washington) and they settled in Juniper Flat (Oregon) where they ranched Black Angus cattle for many years. She was a homemaker and a ranch wife, always busy with the many chores of ranching. She loved to hunt and fish with her husband, and was very knowledgeable about local history including the native culture. She also enjoyed vacationing in Reno (Nevada) and doing leather craft work. She is survived by her husband, and by her daughters and their families: Diane Miller and her husband Dan of Wamic (Oregon), and Debie Stewart and her husband Jim of Hermiston (Oregon); her brother and sister-in-law Harold and Shirley Delco of Tygh Valley, grandchildren Nick and Julie Rachor, Troy and Kelly Stewart, and Todd Miller and 5 and a half great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one grandson Drew Miller in 2001. Private graveside services will be held by the family, and a public celebration of her life is planned for later this spring.
