She was born July 27, 1912 on Juniper Flat, near Maupin, to Roy Randolph and Violet (Miller) Crabtree and grew up attending schools in that area. She attended Maupin High School in 1927-1929 and played basketball. Following her marriage to Earnie Arthur Endersby in June 1929, she attended high school in Wapinitia, and graduated from there in 1930. The couple operated their wheat and cattle ranch on Juniper Flat most of their married lives. Mrs. Endersby was a homemaker, enjoying sewing, oil painting, cooking, music, and playing piano. She also participated in many community events, including the Wapinitia Good Neighbor Club, Lone Pine and Barlow Gate Granges, Home Extension program, and the Town and Country Players. She was an avid sports fan who attended most of the South Wasco County school events. She was recently recognized by the girls basketball team for 75 years of faithful support. Numerous times during the past five years, she has had five generations in attendance at local games. She is survived by her daughters and their families; Barbra and Melvin Ambrose and Donna Lee and Dennis Ross, all of Maupin; her grandchilden and their families; Tom Ambrose, Donna and Randy Barton, all of Boardman, and Kim and Jim Burgett, Maupin, Sharon and Mike Carpenter, University Place, Wash., Theresa and Kevin Benton, Puyallup, Wash., Danielle and Mike Foreaker, Maupin, Michael and Mandy Ross of Luke AFB, Ariz., Heather and Gary Nychyk, Cape Coral, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Brooke and Bryan Barton, Amanda and Malori Ambrose, Michael and Lindee Burgett, Tim, Lauren, Aaron and Joe Dove, and Molly Foreaker, Michael and Morgan Ross, Adam and Steven Benton; a great-great- granddaughter, Cari Barton. Also surviving is a brother, Carson E. Crabtree of Sunnyvale, Calif., and a brother-in-law, Royal Ward of Nehalem, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnie in 1989; a son, Arthur Val, in 1948; and a grandson, Timothy Ross, in 1968. Memorial services will be held at the Maupin Community Church on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m., Pastor Asa Jenson presiding. Inurnment will be at the Kelly Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canyon Rim Manor project, c/o Betty Lawson, Wamic, Ore., or to the Redsides Sports Program, PO Box 347, Maupin, Ore., 97037.
