Erck, 87, a former resident of The Dalles, died in Salem (Oregon) on May 10, 2003 as a result of complications from a stroke. She was born May 23, 1916 in Greenbrier, West Virginia to Noel and Mary Cales. She was one of nine children. She lived in The Dalles from 1943 to 1967 and moved to Salem in 1987. Survivors include her husband, Edward W. Erck, Salem; sons, Joe (Pat) Haynes, Paso Robles, California; Bill (Barb) Haynes, Ocean Park, Washington; David (Tina) Haynes, The Dalles; and Harold (Judy) Haynes, Redmond (Oregon); daughters Sondra Harmon and Libby Stafford, The Dalles; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, two sisters and one grand-daughter. Private family services will be held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in The Dalles.
