The Dalles Chronicle, July 13, 2005
     Lissie Isabella Evans, 97, a lifelong resident of Condon died at the 
local hospital in The Dalles on Saturday, July 9, 2005.
     She was born April 13, 1908, in Condon, to James and Annie Harder (White) 
Garfield. She attended, and graduated high school in Condon.
     She married Roy Evans shortly after high school in Condon. They lived in 
Condon the first part of their marriage, and then moved to Portland, where her 
husband worked for the railroad. They moved back to Condon in the mid-60’s.
     She was a member of the United Church of Christ, Rebekah Lodge, and 
enjoyed cards, especially pinochle, and gardening.
     She is survived by three brothers and two sisters. 
     She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in the mid-80’s, her son 
James D. Evans, two brothers, and two sisters.
     Graveside services will be held at the Condon Cemetery at 1 p.m. on 
Thursday, July 14. Memorial services will follow at Summit Spring Retirement 
Center at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home is 
in care of the arrangements.
