The Dalles Chronicle, March 15, 2006
     Eric Evans and his sister-in-law, Melissa Evans, were killed in an early 
morning traffic accident east of Rockford, Mich. on March 2.
     The vehicle they were in hit a patch of slush and veered into the 
oncoming traffic and was struck near the passenger door by an approaching car. 
Both died at the scene.
     He is survived by his parents, Dave and Eileen (Johnson), Rockford; a 
brother, Matthew Evan; a niece, Morgan Evans; grandparents, Bill and Virginia 
Johnson, The Dalles; Nancy Evans, Three Lakes, Wis.; aunts and uncles, 
Elizabeth and Kevin Windsor, Renton, Wash.; Carolyn and Mauricio Calderon, 
Everett, Wash.; and numerous cousins; great aunts and uncles, Lina Haug, Bob 
and Delores Haug and Betty Johnson, all of The Dalles; Kirk Roberts, 
McMinnville; Tom and Helen Evans, Ohio, and Bob Frazier, Michigan.
     She is survived by her husband, Matthew Evans; daughter, Morgan, 
Rockford; and parents, Jim and Bev Ross; brothers, Joseph and Eddie Ross; and 
sister, Sue Ann Sexton, all of Carmi, Ill.
     A memorial service was held March 6 at the Bostwick Lake Congregational 
Church.
     Memorials in his memory may be made to Bostwick Lake Congregational 
Church, 7979 Belding Road, Rockford,MI 49341. Memorials in her memory may be 
made to DeVos Children’s Hospital, 100 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49502.
