The Dalles Weekly Reminder,  June 5, 1987
     Frank A. Evans, 61, died in The Dalles June 1.  He was a resident of The 
Dalles for six years, formerly of Salem.
     Mr. Evans was born in Wichita, Kans. Oct. 13, 1925.  He worked as an 
electrical inspector for the State of Oregon.  A Navy World War II veteran, he 
was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, and was active in scouting and 
little league.
     Mr. Evans is survived by his wife, Eleanor of The Dalles; daughter, 
Sharon Dowen of Everett, Wash.; five sons, Richard and Michael of Salem, Bill 
of Tualatin, Vernon of Stayton and Ron of The Dalles; 14 grandchildren; a 
brother, William Evans of Shreveport, La.; two sisters, Lola Hibbs of Wichita 
and Cloris Abbott of Salem.
     Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial were held at St. 
Peter Catholic Church, officiated by Rev. Ronald Maag.  Interment of ashes 
will be at Willamette National Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to St. 
Mary's School Foundation.  Spencer, Libby and Powell is in charge of 
arrangements.
