The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 26, 1984
     Jack J. Foster, 83, a longtime resident of The Dalles, died Tuesday at a 
local nursing home.

     He was born July 5, 1900 in Cheotaeau, Mont.

     Mr. Foster was a longtime cherry orchard owner.

     He was a member of Eagles Lodge 2116, The Dalles Country Club, Multnomah 
Athletic Club and a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 303.

     Survivors include his wife, Viola, The Dalles, who is the daughter of 
Mrs. Fay Gregory, The Dalles; two step-children and several nieces and nephews.

     At Mr. Foster's request, no funeral services will be conducted.  Smith 
Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
