The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 14, 1983
     Arlon O. (Bill) Fox, 74, a resident of Rufus since 1966 and formerly a 
resident of Arizona, died Tuesday at the hospital after a long illness.
     He was born Oct. 11, 1908 in Marshall, Ark.
     Mr. Fox was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
     Survivors include his wife, Jocille J., Rufus; a son, Robert A., Black 
Canyon City, Ariz.; a stepson, Melvin Phillips, Woodland, Calif.; two 
stepdaughters, Beverly Hiigel, The Dalles, and Rebecca Elliott, Yakima, Wash., 
and eight grandchildren.
     No funeral service will be performed at Mr. Fox's request.  Memorials are 
suggested to the Rufus Ambulance Fund in care of the Rufus Fire Department.
     Smith Callaway Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
