The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 6, 1988
     James Edward Frakes, 64, died at the local hospital.  He was a resident 
here for 27 years.
     Mr. Frakes was born in Lakeview, Ore.  He worked in the aluminum industry 
for many years, first at Harvey Aluminum and later for Martin Marietta.
     He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Frakes of The Dalles; daughters, Mona 
Guyer and Kathy Frakes of The Dalles, Cheri Camba of California; five sons, 
John and Jim Frakes of The Dalles, Bob Guyer of Milwaukie, Eddie Frakes of 
Everett, Wash., Mike Frakes of California; mother Enid Trent of Portland; a 
sister, Betty Geiger of The Dalles; two brothers, John of Dufur and Henry of 
Portland; six grandchildren; an aunt; several nieces and nephews.
     Graveside services were held at Parklawn Memorial Garden in the veterans 
section.  The service was officiated by Rev. James Hazlett.  Memorials are 
suggested to the Heart Association in care of Smith Callaway Chapel.
