She was born in Fort Scott, Kan. on Sept. 20, 1926. She spent her early years in Wichita, Kan. where she met and married Elmer Edward (Eddie) Harala in the 1940s during the war years. Then they moved to Spokane and lived there until his retirement from Kaiser Aluminum. After some years traveling and snowbirding in Palm Springs they moved to The Dalles to be near family. She enjoyed bingo, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. Survivors include her son, Larry Edward and his wife, Jan; two daughters, Janice Jones and her husband, Bob, Tacoma; and Mary Jane Breneman, St. Louis; a sister, Lois Houchen, Springdale, Ark.; six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Gail. The family plans a private service in The Dalles at a later date.
