The Dalles Weekly Reminder, May 3, 1984
     Allen Franklin Hopper, 69, died at his home in The Dalles Friday.

     He was born April 30, 1914 in Rogers, Ark.

     He worked in the Mid-Columbia area as an operating engineer.  He was a 
member of Operating Engineers Local No. 701.

     Survivors include four daughters, Alene Givens, The Dalles; Barbara 
Pifher, Baker; Sherri Denton and Sandra Santillan, both of The Dalles; 10 
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  His wife, Letha, died in August of 
1977.

     Graveside services were at The Dalles IOOF Cemetery Tuesday with the Rev. 
Milton Hopper officiating.  Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home was in charge 
of arrangements.

     Memorials may be made to the Oregon Heart Fund.
