He was born June 13, 1931, in Burns to Frank L. and Florence L. (Andrews) Huff and was raised in the Northwest. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1957 and lived in Gilliam County and Condon since the early 70’s. He was a member of VFW, life member of NRA and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and puttering around. James is survived by four half sisters, Verna (Huff) Ward, St. Anthony, Idaho; Evelyn (Huff) Tanner, Ogden, Utah; Wanda (Huff) Fayle, Hamilton, Mont.; Pearl June Stewart, Condon and one half brother, Richard Allen Andrews, Stevenson, Wash. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the family home in Condon at a later date. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Smith Callaway Chapel in care of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Disabled Veterans, c/o Oregon Veterans’ Home, 700 Veterans’ Drive, The Dalles, OR 97058 or American Cancer Society, 2120 First Ave. N, Seattle, WA 98109.
