Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 3, 2007, 11:46 pm The Dalles Chronicle, March 29, 1988 John Charles Kasmer, a long time resident of Mosier, died March 25 at the Hood River Hospital. He was 65. He was born Oct. 17, 1922 in South Kortright, N. Y. He attended school in New York and served in the U.S. Army in World War II as a paratrooper. He married Doris Conklin Sept. 23, 1951 in Grand Gorge, N. Y. He moved to The Dalles in 1962 and moved to Mosier in 1965. He was a beekeeper and operated an apiary on his property for many years. He enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife, Doris, Mosier; two sons, James and Robert Kasmer, Mosier; a daughter, Mary Kasmer, Mosier; three brothers, Stephen Kasmer, Roxbury, N.Y., Joseph Doroski, Grand Gorge, N.Y., Tony Doroski, Beaverton; two sisters, Anne Super, Oneonta, N.Y., Dorothy Kasmer, Briston, Conn., four grandchildren. Memorials have been suggested to Doernbeckers Children’s Hospital. Flowers may be sent to Anderson Funeral Home, 14 Belmont St., Hood River, Ore., 97031. At Mr. Kasmer’s request there will be no formal funeral service.
