The Dalles Weekly Reminder, July 10, 1987
Oriel Carolyn Knowles, 70, died at a local nursing home July 2.  She was a 
resident of The Dalles for eight years.

Mrs. Knowles was born in Astoria Jan. 2, 1917.  She lived near Madras and 
Wamic before moving to The Dalles and was a member of the Reorganized Church 
of Latter-Day Saints.  She was preceded in death by her husband Francis and 
three children.

She is survived by two sisters, Mary Mintin of North Bend and Ann Harfield of 
Mt. Angel; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services were held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery.  Memorials 
are suggested to the Columbia Basin Nursing Home.  Spencer, Libby and Powell 
Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
