The Dalles Weekly Reminder, Feb 5, 1982
     Herman Kost, 70, a resident of The Dalles since 1953, died Jan. 30 in a 
local nursing home.
     He was born Jan. 14, 1911 at Martin, N.D.
     Mr. Kost was a member of Ironworkers Local 29, a veteran of World War II, 
a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the American Legion.
     Survivors include his wife, Rose, The Dalles; two sons, Don of Aloha, and 
James of Portland; three grandchildren, Stephen, Spenser and Jessica; four 
brothers, Edwin, Grants Pass; Tony, Harvey, N.D.; Leonard, Longview, Wash. and 
Ervin, Lodi, Calif.; two sisters, Laura Davis, Eugene, Verna Zerr, Martin, N.D.
     Services were Feb. 2 at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home with the 
Rev. Martin Quigley officiating.  Burial followed in The Dalles IOOF Cemetery 
in the veteran section.
