Loop, 84, died at the hospital in The Dalles on Feb. 7, 2004. He was born Sept. 7, 1919 in Dallas, Oregon. He was an auto mechanic and had worked for a tire company in New Orleans, La. He was a lifetime member of Christian Life Center in Kenner, La. and sang for many years in a Gospel trio called “The Gospelaires. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had lived in the Portland metro area for the past six years. Survivors include two sons, Roy Loop, Tualatin, and Larry Loop, The Dalles; and four grandchildren, Larry (Chip) Loop Jr., Robb Steven Loop, Lori C. Sperry and Stephanie Cantrell and six great-grandchildren. His wife, Gloria (Bordelon) died in 2003. Funeral services will be held Feb. 13, at 1 p.m. at Cornwell Colonial Chapel in Wilsonville. Burial will follow at Willamette National Cemetery at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to Gideon’s International.
