The Dalles Chronicle, February 11, 2005
    Evelyn Alcox Nealy, 88, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care 
facility on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005.
     She was born Feb. 24, 1916 in Kansas to G.T. and Mattie (Jenkins) Alcox. 
She did not have any children and her husband Johnny died in 1961. She worked 
mostly in domestic situations.
     She spent many active years as a Baptized Jehovah Witness and she served 
in The River View Congregation, spending many hours witnessing to her friends 
and neighbors.
     She was well known for her special cooking ability and her fudge was an 
instant addiction.
     Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness, 
2500 West 8th Street at 2:00 PM on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 with Wes Ranslam 
officiating. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with 
Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
