Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 17, 2006, 12:20 am The Dalles Chronicle, December 30, 2005 Helen Jane Miller Card Reierson, 86, a resident of The Dalles for 59 years, died at the local hospital Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005. She was born July 3, 1919, in Goldendale, Wash., the fifth of five children to John Adam and Elizabeth Jane (Garner) Miller. After the death of her mother, her father married Lena Hollingsworth, adding a sister and brother. She grew up in Centerville, Wash., and graduated from Centerville High School in 1937. She then attended Washington State College for a year. During her life, she was a homemaker, and worked with children in the public schools as a teacher aid and enjoyed gardening, watching sports, reading and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Emmons and her husband, Terry, and Julie Saldivar and her husband, Gene, all of The Dalles and Deb Card, Eugene; her grandchildren and spouses, Brett Emmons, Oregon City; Jennifer Carson, Ballarat, AUS; Laurie and Mike Grenya, and Jason and Jenni Saldivar, all of Salem; Brian and Jennifer Carson, Oregon City; Courtney and Gabe Judah, and Daniel Saldivar and Shannon Wickersheim, all of The Dalles; great grandchildren, Trevor, Robert, Della, Rachelle, Brandon and Electra, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Leonard Card in 1967 and Irv Reierson in 1999, and her daughter, Janice Carson in 2003, brothers and sisters, Zelma Taylor, Henry Miller, Mary Jaekel, Reg Miller, Jean Hannifan and Jerry Miller. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 31, at the United Church of Christ Congregational, 115 East 5th Street, with Pastor Karl Vercouteren officiating. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Remembrances may be made to the Susan G.
