He was born April 24, 1919, at The Dalles General Hospital to Minnie and Edward Reiman. He attended The Dalles schools and graduated from The Dalles High School in 1936. He married Virginia Lee of The Dalles and they had three daughters, Nancy, Donna and Kay. During World War II he served on the Pacific front on Okinawa as gunnery sergeant. After the war he returned to his work as a railroad engineer. He was an outstanding athlete in his youth and loved all sports. He tried out with the Boston Red Sox baseball team, but couldn’t hit quite hard enough for big league baseball. When Don Lee originated Peewee baseball in The Dalles, he was the first to volunteer to help coach. He loved fishing on the Deschutes River and tied flies for himself and friends. He is survived by his wife Virginia; three daughters, Nancy Summers, Donna Jensen and Kay Olsen; six grandchildren, Summer Braun, Ryan Smith, Krysta Reese, Kreeya Olson and Greg and Jeff Jensen; and seven great grandchildren, Madeline, Tanner, Jadelyn, Jacek, Jaegar, Tristan and Emma Kay. At his request there will be no formal services. A family gathering will be held at a later date. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
