The Dalles Weekly Reminder, March 19, 1982
     Conrad Arthur Rust, 81, a resident of The Dalles since 1935, died March 
11 at his home.
     He was born Sept. 9, 1900 in Grass Valley.
     Mr. Rust married Mary Jane Payne, June 15, 1927 in The Dalles, and lived 
in Sherman County until moving to The Dalles in 1935 where he was a pole and 
timber framer for the J. H. Baxter Co. until retiring in 1970.
     He was a member of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers Union Local No. 2785, 
and a 27-year member of The Dalles Eagles Lodge.
     Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Nelda) 
Williams, and Mrs. Thomas (Velda) Alford, both of The Dalles; six 
grandchildren, John and Lisa Williams, Connie Ackerman, Kenneth and Ted Alford 
and Larna Bartells, and five great-grandchildren.
     Funeral services were at Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home March 13.  
Burial followed at The Dalles Parklawn Cemetery.
     Memorials are suggested to the Oregon Heart Fund.
