Wakley iwakley@msn.com April 17, 2006, 12:22 am The Dalles Chronicle, December 30, 2005 Amos Lindell Smith, 90, a resident of The Dalles, died at a local care facility on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005. He was born on Nov. 9, 1915 in LaComaton, Kan., one of nine children to Cornelius L. and Emma (Wilson) Smith. He was raised in Kansas where he attended Ashland High School in Ashland, Kan. Amos served in World War II until his honorable discharge in 1945. He was a construction worker and has been in the community since 1954. He was a member of the Foursquare Church and supported the Trinity Broadcasting Network. He enjoyed running and bicycle riding. A viewing will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home from 9 to 10 a.m. Private graveside service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3 2006, at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. Spencer, Libby & Powell Funeral Home is in care of arrangements.
