The Dalles Weekly Reminder, February 24, 1983
     Robert Thomas Traver, 61, a resident of The Dalles and formerly a 
resident of Portland, died Feb. 16 at his home.
     He was born July 2, 1921 in Hinckley, Minn.
     Mr. Traver was a member of Operating Engineers Local No. 701 and a 
veteran of World War II.
     Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Dufur; two sons, Todd, Washington, 
D. C., Robert, Lincoln City; five daughters, Kathy Koznek, Euclid, Ohio; Kim 
Traver, White Sands Air Force Base, Nevada; Melody Traver, The Dalles; Marilyn 
Traver, Washougal, Wash. and Elizabeth Corson, Portland; a stepson, Walter 
Hoyt, Portland; two stepdaughters, Dorothy Orwig, Dufur and Betty Gluesing, 
Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.; a brother, John, Spokane; three sisters, 
Katherine Wieters, The Dalles; Mildred Hubbard, Almo, Calif.; and Gertrude 
Adair, Mennen, Idaho, and eight grandchildren.
     Graveside service was Saturday morning at Parklawn Memorial Gardens with 
the Rev. Ric Simpson officiating.  Military rites were conducted by The Dalles 
area veteran's.  Smith Callaway Chapel will be in charge of arrangements.
