The Dalles Weekly Reminder, September 15, 1983
     Raymond Earl Utz, 77, a resident of The Dalles since 1930, died Friday in 
a Portland hospital.
     He was born Dec. 4, 1905 at Potlatch, Idaho.
     Mr. Utz worked in the construction business in this area and was a World 
War II Navy veteran and a member of The Dalles Elks and Eagles.
     Funeral services were Monday in Smith Callaway Chapel under the auspices 
of the Elks Lodge.
     Survivors include his son, Vernon, Monmouth; a sister, Ida Westlund, 
Hermiston; and nephews and nieces including Mavis Wahlstrom, The Dalles.
     Comittal services were at Parklawn Cemetery in The Dalles.
