He was born Jan. 21, 1897 in Russia and moved to the U.S. when he was five. The family lived in Kansas then moved to the Kent area in Sherman County to homestead. He married Grace Alice Dawson in 1933 in Hood River and they moved to The Dalles. He worked for Seufert's until it closed in the 1950s, then worked for the Wasco County Road Dept. until 1962. He was an Army veteran of WWI and a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Alice, of The Dalles; two sons, Fred of The Dalles and Reinhardt Jr. of Salem; three sisters; eight grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. A daughter, Virginia Moreno, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at The Dalles IOOF Mausoleum Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday (today) officiated by Rev. Tim Foster. Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
