The Dalles Weekly Reminder, January 2, 1987
William Amos Wharton, a resident of Wasco county for 60 years, died in The 
Dalles Dec. 27.  He was 84.

Mr. Wharton was born March 26, 1902.  He was preceded by his wife, Ada, in 
1986.

He is survived by two daughters, Bertha Rich of Los Angeles and Katherine L. 
Wendt of Springfield, Ore.; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

At his request, no services will be held.  Memorials may be made to the Senior 
Center Building Fund.  Spencer, Libby and Powell is in charge of arrangements.
