He was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Manchester, Okla., the third of four children to Milford O. and Sarah Elizabeth (McCartney) Wildman. He was raised in Manchester and later moved to Monticello, Utah and farmed until his entry into the U.S. Army in October 1943. When he was discharged in 1946, he returned to Utah and farmed. He married Betty Jean Holiday in Monticello Sept. 23, 1947 and she died April 13, 1981. In the fall of 1954, he moved to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and worked for Potlatch Forests, Inc. in lumber production and then in its powerhouse. He moved to Milton-Freewater in the mid ’70s and worked at the Milton Nursery and then for Key Electronics, making food processing machinery. He came to The Dalles in 1980 and worked for School District 12 and later moved to Terrebonne in August 1981. On August 11, 1981, he married Margaret Daisy Graves in Madera, Calif. and she preceded him in death on October 1998. In June of 2003, he moved to Portland for health reasons. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Judy and Patrick Wood, Echo; Louise and Bruce Hegel, Milton-Freewater; Kenneth and Brenda Wildman, Portland; Marie and David Coleman, Terrebonne, and Hazel Pyle, Lyle; 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; his brother, Lester Wildman, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; sisters, Lola Anderson, Casper, Wyo., and Vera Winnegar, Coeur d’ Alene. Memorial services for family and friends in the Terrebonne area will be held at the Terrebonne Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004 at 11 a.m. Public memorial services in The Dalles will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Friday, Jan. 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. Private cremation was held at The Dalles Win-quatt Crematory with burial of cremains at IOOF Cemetery on Three Mile Road.
