Warren Recorded June 2001 by Deanna & her husband. ===================================================================== LOCATION: Go out the Old Whiteson Hwy from Whitson to Telegraph Road, turn right on Telegraph to base of the hill take first left up hill on a gravel road about 1/4 to 1/3 of a mile to the top of the hill and you will see the cemetery on the left. This cemetery has nearly been destroyed by vandalism and years of no one caring for it. Several years ago as a high school project David Deraeve went up and cleaned it up but not before the vandals had done their work. I spoke with David and he said that all it was when he started on it was a patch of poison oak and blackberry vines. Since he cleaned it up it has been kept up by a Mr. Weirich of Eugene, OR. David Deraeve knows of no plat map and many stones are missing. If you have information on any of the missing stones, please e-mail Deanna. The cemetery is located out of the town of Whitson on Telegraph Road on what is believed to be the Johnson Donation Land Claim. This information was obtained from Robert Schmitt who used to farm the land below the cemetery. Ralph Turner says this cemetery was evidently Daniel and Elsina Johnson and their 639 acre DLC issued 18 Nov 1858. All in R4W: Sec 35 and 36 in T3S and sec 1 and 2 in T4S. Survey 40 and 74.
