New York: Eaton & Mains, 1904, page 274. ________________________________________________ Austin, Andrew Orthello, was born on November 9, 1864, in Brookfield, Madison County, N.Y. He was converted and joined the church about 1880. He attended the district school near his home for some time, and later the Brookfield Union School for several years. He attended Colgate Academy, at Hamilton, one year, and graduated in 1886. he taught school until 1892, when he took a course in Eastman's Business College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., graduating in 1892. After leaving the Business College he followed teaching until 1895, when he entered Drew Theological Seminary, from which he graduated in 1898. During the last three years of his teaching he was principal of the village school in Guilford, N.Y. In 1888 he was married to Miss Frances B. Sprague, of Brookfield, N.Y. He received local preacher's license in 1894 and joined our Conference in 1898, receiving deacon's orders at the same session of Conference, and elder's orders in 1900. His pastorates have been as follows: 1898-1900, Union Center; 1901-02, Foster; 1903, Chenango Bridge.
