New York: Eaton & Mains, 1904, pages 347-348. ________________________________________________ James, Frank, was born on January 10, 1864, in the city of Durham, England, and with his parents came to America in 1876. He attended the public school in England. At Berwick-on-Tweed he learned the tailor's trade. He worked at that trade in this country for some time, also worked in the Ashley, Luzerne County, Pa., machine shops, and for some time was clerk in S. E. Wells's general store. He was converted in Ashley in 1880, during a revival, and at once joined the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was licensed as a local preacher by the Ashley Methodist Episcopal Church. He worked as supply preacher four years before joining Conference in 1898. On September 16, 1885, he married Miss Ella O'Neill, of Ashley, Pa. His pastoral record is as follows: 1898, Eaton; 1899-1903, Centermoreland.
