LANE, Speaker of the Senate. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In General Assembly met and is hereby enacted by the Authority of the Same. 1. An act to relinquish the title of this commonwealth to a house and lot in Corporation street, in the town of Newville, in Cumberland county. Whereas, WILLIAM FERGUSON, late of Cumberland county, died intestate, without issue or kindred, except for his widow ELIZABETH FERGUSON, and the house and lot is liable to escheat, subject to the life estate of the widow in a moiety of the same for want of heirs, to take it by inheritance, therefore, all the right and title of this commonwealth to the house and lot are hereby remised and released to Elizabeth Ferguson. 11 Jan 1812. 2. An act to authorize JOHN SMITH, MATTHEW M'CALL, and JAMES PEDAN, of York county, to sell and convey real estate. Whereas by an act passed 13 Mar 1811, to incorporate a company for the erecting a bridge over the river Susquehanna near _____ M'CALL's ferry, and the consent of the owners of the ground whereon the bridge is to be erected is owned in part by minors, therefore, John Smith and Matthew M'Call, guardians of the minor children of ROBERT M'CALL, dec., and James Pedan, father and guardian of the minor children of ELIZABETH PEDAN, dec., are hereby authorized to sell and convey to the company incorporated for the purpose of erecting a bridge, and the proceeds shall be vested in some productive fund for the use of the minors. 11 Jan 1812. 4. An act to incorporate a company for making a road from the Philadelphia and Lancaster turnpike, commencing near the 26 mile stone, through the borough of West Chester, and passing near _____ DARLINTON's inn and Dilworth's town to the state line, toward the borough of Wilmington. That GEORGE ASHBRIDGE, THOMAS HOOPES, PHILLP PRICE, JOSEPH H. BRINTON, and JOSEPH TAYLOR, of Chester county, THOMAS H. BRINTON, JOHN PAINTER, NATHAN SHARPLESS, and THOMAS SPEAKMAN, of Birmingham of Delaware county, are hereby appointed commissioners. 17 Jan 1812. 5. An act confirming the title of JOHN GAMBLE, late an alien, to a piece of land in Luzerne county. That the title of John Gamble, Springfield twp., Luzerne county, late an alien, to a tract of land containing 392 acre and 128 perches, consisting of part of lot #26 and part of #27, is hereby confirmed, as far as the same to be deficient on account of John Gamble being an alien at the time he made the purchase. 17 Jan 1812. 7. An act to change the name of VOLTAIRE GOLDSMITH JONES. That Voltaire Goldsmith Jones shall be known by the name of THOMAS WATKIN JONES, and shall be able to do all legal acts to all intents and purposes as if done by his former name. 17 Jan 1812. 8. An act for the relief of RICHARD JOHNSTON. That the state treasurer is hereby directed to pay to Richard Johnston, an old ranger of the revolutionary war, forty dollars immediately, and forty dollars annually during life, to be paid half yearly. 17 Jan 1812. 9. A supplement to an act a contract with JOHN BIOREN. Whereas, John Bioren, printer of the new edition of the laws of PA, that by reason of the great space occupied by the notes, the whole of the laws in four volumes cannot be included without rendering the fourth volume unreasonably large, therefore, that upon the condition that John Bioren, shall relinquish any contract for the publication of a fifth volume of the laws of PA, he is hereby authorized to close the fourth volume with the laws of 1878. 17 Jan 1812. 10. A supplement to the act for erecting part of the counties of Berks and Northampton into a separate county. That the judges of the district elections within the counties of Berks and Schuylkill after having formed the returns shall on 3 tuesday of Oct. send the same to the house now occupied by ABRAHAM BAILEY in Hamburg, Berks county. 17 Jan 1812. 12. An act to validate the proceedings of ANDREW MILLER, late a justice of the peace in Venango county. That all deeds and other writings, taken before Andrew Miller, in the county of Venango, a justice of the peace for the county of Crawford, and all legal and official proceedings of him in the county of Venango, are hereby confirmed and made valid. 28 Jan 1812. 15. An act to authorize the administrators of JAMES WHEELER to convey a tract of land to the purchaser. Whereas, James Wheeler, late of Luzerne county, dec., was seized of a tract of land, situate in Braintrim twp., Luzerne couty, which he did sell and engage to convey to DANIEL STERLING, for $650.00, part of which, $524.00 was paid to the deceased, but there is no written evidence, therefore, DAVID B. WHEELER and ZEBULON BUTLER, administrators of James Wheeler, dec., are hereby authorized upon the receipt of the residue of purchase money due, to make and execute to Daniel Sterling a deed of conveyance for a tract of land containing 92 acres and 64 perches, being part of lot #11, adjoining DANIEL LUM, and now in the possession of Daniel Sterling. 28 Jan 1812. 16. An act to enable GEORGE GANTZ and HENRY KUNKLE, elders, trustees and churchwardens of religious societies, called the Lutheran congregations in Codorus, Shrewsburg and Hopewell twps., York county, to sell and convey lands. Whereas, George Gantz and Henry Kunkle, elders, trustees and churchwardens of Jerusalem's church, JACOB ERHART and MICHAEL NESS, elders, trustees and churchwardens of Zion's church, and FRANCIS HARTMAN and MARTIN KURTZ, elders, trustees and church wardens of Saddler's church, purchased on 17 Mar 1804, three pieces of land, for the use of the congregation as church land, called glebe land, and not answering the purposes for which they were bought, therefore, they the Lutheran congregations are hereby authorized to sell and convey the pieces of land, which was purchased in trust, on 17 Mar 1804, as glebe land, the first in Shrewsbury twp., containng 86 acres, purchased of JOHN BAILEY, and MARGARET BAILEY his wife, the second in Shrewsbury and Codorus twps., containing 3 acres and 30 perches purchased of JOHN BOYER and MARY BOYER his wife, and the third piece in Shrewsbury and Codorus twps., containing 3 acres and 139 perches, purchased of ANDREW SCHNEIDER and ANNA MARIA SCHNEIDER his wife, free and clear and to apply the money for purchase money to be paid on any arrears due. 28 Jan 1812. 17. An act for the relief of an old soldier. That the state treasurer is hereby directed to pay to MILES CROWLY, the sum of forty dollars. 28 Jan 1812. 18. An act granting JOHN WOODS certain lots. Whereas, John Woods has settled and made considerable improvement on three of the reserved lots opposite the town of Pittsburg, which lots remain yet unsold, and it would be reasonable to grant the first settler the preemption right of said lots, at such price thought proper, therefore, is granted to John Woods of Allegheny county, lots of ground #1, 209 and 210, and just valuation paid to the commonwealth, the land officers shall issue a patent to John Woods. 28 Jan 1812. 19. An act granting a tract of donation land, to the heirs of JAMES GORDON, late of Westmoreland county. Whereas a tract of donation land was by patent bearing date 20 Sep 1787, granted to JOHN DOWNEY, a private in the late army of the United States, and was by John Downey, by indenture, dated 1 Mar 1796, transferred to James Gordon of Westmoreland, which said tract has since been found to lie in the state of New York, therefore, as soon as the lawful heirs deliver to the land office to be cancelled the patent granting a tract of donation land to John Downey, and produce a document to prove they are the legal heirs, the land office is to issue a patent for 200 acres of donation land, out of lots undrawn. 28 Jan 1812. 20. An act to convey lots of land to a purchaser. Whereas MOSES WADHAMS, late of Luzerne county, dec., was seized of two lots in Plymouth twp., Luzerne county, lot #10 in the first division, and lower tier of house lots, containing 10 acres, 68 1/2 perches, and part of lot #51, in the third division containing 36 acres, which he in his lifetime exchanged with GEORGE P. RANSOM, for lot #2, in the mountain tier of meadow lots, containing 9 acres and fifty perches, but of the exchange there is no written record, therefore, upon George P. Ransom's conveying by deed to ELLEN WRIGHT and NOAH WADHAMS, guardians of PHEBE WADHAMS and LYDIA WADHAMS, minors, and heirs of Moses Wadhams, late of Luzerne county, dec., in trust for the minors #2, and Ellen Wright and Noah Wadhams are hereby authorized by deed, to convey to George P. Ransom, lot #10. 3 Feb 1812. 21. An act to dissolve the marriage of JOHN SMITH and MARY SMITH his wife. Whereas MARY MILLER, Adams county, did upon 25 Apr 1811, upon oath before one of the justices of the peace, charge John Smith with being the father of the child with which she was then pregnant, and John Smith, confiding in the veracity and integrity of Mary Miller, did on 24 May following, intermarry with Mary, and on the 20 Jul following their intermarriage, Mary was delivered of a mulatto female child which she confessed to sundry respectable persons, was begotten by a negro man, and whereas the marriage contract above all others, should be free from fraud or imposition, therefore, the marriage contract between John and Mary Smith, is declared null and void and the parties set free from all duties as fully as if they had never been joined in marriage. 3 Feb 1812. 23. An act to incorporate a company for erecting a bridge over the river Susquehanna, at the Great Bend, where the ferry is now kept, opposite the houses of ABRAHAM DUBOIS and SYLVANUS HATCH, in the district of Willingborough, and the county district of Susquehanna. That SAMUEL HODGDON and JOHN B. WALLACE, of the city of Philadelphia, and WILLIAM THOMPSON, Sylvanus Hatch, ROBERT H. ROSE, MINAS DUBOIS, and RICHARD BARNUM, of the county district of Susquehanna, are hereby appointed commissioners. 3 Feb 1812. 24. An act dissolving the marriage of ELEANOR HOULTZ, and ABRAHAM HOULTZ. Whereas ELEANOR DONALDSON was, on 7 Feb 1797, married to Abraham Houltz with whom she lived eleven years and nine months, in which time they had seven children, and about 16 Aug 1808, Abraham left Eleanor his lawful wife, and five small children, to conflict with poverty and distress, and some time in the month of October, in the same year, Abraham Houltz, who then called himself ABRAHAM WOODS, was married to another woman, and it appears Eleanor is a woman of good moral character, therefore, the marriage contract entered into by Eleanor Houltz and Abraham Houltz, her husband, is hereby declared null and void, and she is hereby set free from all duties as fully as if she had never been joined in marriage, but nothing herein shall be construed to render illegitimate any child born of the body of Eleanor, during her coverture. 3 Feb 1812. 25. An act for the relief of the widow of JOSEPH BRUTON, dec., a soldier, who received a wound in the revolutionary war. That the state treasurer is hereby directed to pay BRIDGET BRUTON, widow of Joseph Bruton, Bucks county, dec., or her lawful attorney, forty dollars, and an annuity of twenty dollars to be paid half yearly to JOSEPH CLUNN of the borough of Bristol, to commence 1 Jan 1812, to provide comfortable lodging, clothing and diet for Bridget Bruton. 3 Feb 1812. 27. An act granting an annuity to JOHN M'GUIRE, a disabled revolutionary soldier. Whereas that John M'Guire served in the army during the war, had his leg broke by a fall from a waggon, when loading the same, is now become old, and his lameness adds to the infirmity of age, therefore, the sum of forty dollars is hereby granted to John M'Guire, to be paid immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars for life to be paid to WILLIAM MITCHELL, of Bucks county, his executor, or lawful attorney, to commence 1 Jan 1812, and to be paid half yearly to William Mitchell, to provide clothing and diet for John M'Guire. 3 Feb 1812. 31. An act granting an annuity to JACOB PLUMB, a wounded militia man. Whereas Jacob Plumb served in 1782, with the militia, against the Indians, and was wounded on the right sholder by a ball, and tomahawked across his nose, which wounds add to the infirmity of age, therefore, the sum of forty dollars is hereby granted to Jacob Plumb, to be paid immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars for life, to be paid ADAM LEPLEY, of Somerset county, to commence 1 Jan 1812, to be paid half yearly, to provide clothing and diet. 7 Feb 1812. 33. An act for the relief of JAMES MELOY. Whereas James Meloy, late sheriff of Cambria county, by an unavoidable accident, when on the way to the seat of government, in 1808, was prevented from making the return of the election, for electors of the president and vice president of the United States, in the time prescribed by law, by which the accounting officers were not authorized to settle the account of Meloy, for making said return, for remedy thereof, the accounting officers are hereby authorized to settle and pay the account of Meloy, as if he had made the return in the time prescribed by law. 7 Feb 1812. 34. An act to incorporate Loller Academy, in the village of Hatborough, Montgomery county. Whereas ROBERT LOLLER, late of Montgomery county, dec., by his last will and testament, devised a considerable portion of his estate to NATHANIEL B. BOILEAU, in trust, for the erection of a building for an academy, and whereas Nathaniel B. Boileau has erected a building and prays an act of incorporation, therefore, there is established an academy in Hatborough and the first trustees are, Nathaniel B. Boileau, NATHANIEL IRWIN, THOMAS B. MONTANYE, GOVE MITCHELL, HIRAM M'NIELL, ABEL MARPLE, ISAAC TOMKINS, SENECA LUKINS, GEORGE SHELMIRE JR. 7 Feb 1812. 37. An act to enable WILLIAM SCOTT, and JOHN GALLOWAY, administrators, with the will annexed, to the estate of ARCHIBALD SCOTT, dec., to sell and convey a tract of land. Whereas Archibald Scott, late of East Huntingdon twp., Westmoreland county, on 7 Dec 1804, made and published his last will and testament, and did order his plantation to be sold, and the monies should be appropriated for the maintenance of his widow, the support and education of his children, some of whom are yet minors, without naming executors, and he was seized of a plantation, containing 126 acres, therefore William Scott, and John Galloway, administrators, are hereby authorized to sell and convey the tract of land adjoining lands of SAMUEL MOORHEAD, HUGH WILSON, WILLIAM NEWELL, THOMAS BOYD and WILLIAM LATTA, held by virtue of a warrant granted to Archibald Scott, dated 23 Apr 1787, and to make a deed of conveyance to the purchaser. 22 Feb 1812. 39. An act to incorporate a companies to make a roads. That THOMAS FORSTER, and JOHN BOYD, of Erie county, JAMES HARROT, and HENRY HURST, of Crawford county, WILLIAM MOORE, and GEORGE POWERS, of Venango county, EBENEZAR MAGOFFIN and BEVAN PEARSON, of Mercer, JOSEPH BARNET and PETER JONES, of Jefferson county, JOSEPH BOONE and PAUL CLOVER of Clearfield, GEORGE LATIMER and JEREMIAH PARKER, of the city of Philadelphia, WILLIAM DUNCAN and JOHN SHAW of the county of Philadelphia, are hereby appointed commissioners to make a road from the town of Waterford, Erie county, through Meadville, and Franklin to the river Susquehanna near the mouth of Anderson's creek, Clearfield county. That a bridge shall be erected over the river Susquehanna, where the road terminates and THEOPHILUS HARRIS and THOMAS STEWARDSON, of the city of Philadelphia, GABRIEL HIESTER JR., and WILLIAM WHITMAN JR., of Berks county, CHARLES HALL, THOMAS GRANT, DAVID TAGGERT, JOHN P. DE GRUCHY, JACOB DENTLER, HUGH WILSON RIDGE and JOHN DRIESBAUGH, of Northumberland county, JAMES DUNCAN, LYONS MUSSINA, ANDREW GREGG, WILLIAM IRWIN, JOHN DUNLAP, ROLAND CURTIN, ISAAC M'KINNEY, PHILIP BENNER, and MATTHEW ALLISON, of Centre county, are hereby appointed commissioners from the town of Northumberland, Northumberland county, to the Susquehanna river, Clearfield county, passing through Derrstown, Youngmanstown, Aaronsburg, Bellefonte, and Milesburg, to the west branch of the Susquehanna, near the mouth of Anderson's creek, Clearfield county. 22 Feb 1812. 42. An act for the relief of ROBERT COLEMAN and CYRUS JACOBS. Whereas the commissioners appointed to sell the lands of the late JOHN NICHOLSON, on which the commonwealth had a lien, did sell in the borough of Lancaster, lands which are situate in Berks county, whereby the purchasers were prevented from having a convenient opportunity at the time of sale to examine the county records, or learn the title, and as Robert Coleman and Cyrus Jacobs purchased a tract on which it appears there was a lien of the commonwealth for a large sum of money, therefore, the state treasurer is hereby directed to pay the monies paid to the credit of them or either of them, on other purchases made at the sale. 3 Mar 1812. 44. An act granting an annuity to HENRY PENSINGER, an old soldier, who lost a leg in the revolutionary war. That the state treasurer is hereby directed to pay to Henry Pensinger, the sum of forty dollars immediately, and the sum of sixty dollars annually during life, in half yearly payments, to commence on 1 Jan 1812. 3 Mar 1812. 46. An act for the relief of JAMES WILSON, a wounded soldier of the revolution. That the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay James Wilson, immediately, the sum of forty dollars, and the sum of forty dollars per annum, to be paid half yearly, during his life, to commence from 1 Jan 1812. 3 Mar 1812. 49. An act erecting part of Northampton into a separate county. That part of Northampton lying within the limits of the townships of Lynn, Heidleburg, Lowhill, Weissenburg, Macungie, Upper Milford, South Whitehall, North Whitehall, Northampton, Salisbury, Upper Saucon, and part of Hanover is hereby erected into the county of Lehigh, and the court of common pleas and quarter sessions shall be held at the house now occupied by GEORGE SAVETZ. 6 Mar 1812. 50. An act granting to JOHN BROWN, in trust for the children of NATHANIEL SIMPSON, a tract of donation land, in right of SIMPSON HARRIS. Whereas Nathaniel Simpson, late of Centre county, represented that his nephew Simpson Harris, entered into the service of his country, at the commencement of the revolutionary war with Great Britain, that he enlisted as a private soldier, to serve during the war, the he continued until his death, which took place some time in the latter end of the year 1782, a few months before the close of the war, that previous to his death he made and published his last will and testament, by which he devised all the land to which he was entitled for his services to Nathaniel Simpson, but owing to circumstances attending the case Nathaniel did not apply for the land until barred by the act of limitation, therefore, the land office are hereby authorized to grant a patent to John Brown, of the borough of Lewistown, Mifflin county, for 200 acres of donation land in trust for the children of Nathaniel Simpson, out of the lots yet remaining undrawn. 6 Mar 1812. 51. An act for altering the state road in Bedford county. That so much of the state road in Bedford county, beginning at the run near the house of WILLIAM TODD, then west by the house now occupied by JOHN EWALT, 157 perches, is established as a branch off from the Glade road, at the house of John Ewalt, and north of the tract is hereby vacated. 6 Mar 1812. 52. An act for the relinquishment of a state loan, in favor of the estate for the late THOMAS GALLAGHER, dec. That the loan of money with interest this commonwealth, from the estate of Thomas Gallagher, late of Mifflin county, dec., who was wounded at the Crooked Billet, in the revolutionary war, is hereby relinquished and the estate exonerated from the payment. 6 Mar 1812. 54. An act enabling a committee appointed by the court of York county, to sell and convey the real estate of ABRAHAM COOK, a lunatic. Whereas Abraham Cook of York county, has been adjudged a lunatic, and THOMAS M'MILLEN and THOMAS EDMONSON, were appointed a committee to take care of the person and estate of Abraham Cook, and has taken for the lunatic, a part of the real estate of JACOB COOK, father of Abraham Cook, who died intestate, and as there is not sufficient personal property to pay the widow, children and representatives of the intestate, therefore, the committee may sell a tract of land, situate in Warrington twp., York county, adjoining lands of JUDIA HASSY, JACOB GRIST and others, the property of Abraham Cook, a lunatic, and to make and execute a deed to the purchaser, the proceeds to pay his debts and used for his maintance. 6 Mar 1812. 59. An act to erect the towns of Waterford and New Haven, Lancaster county, into a borough. That the towns of Waterford and New Haven, are hereby erected into a borough, called Marietta, beginning at the river Susquehanna, along the line of lands of JAMES ANDERSON, and the late SAMUEL EVANS, dec., along lands of James Anderson, ANTHONY HAINES, DAVID COOK, and HENRY CASSEL, to a corner of land of Henry Cassell and CHRISTIAN HRSHEY. 6 Mar 1812. 60. An act to exonerate from the effects of a judgement, the estate of the late FREDERICK ANTES, dec. That as soon as FREDERICK EVANS, administrator of the late Frederick Antes, dec., shall have received from the commissioners of taxes of Northumberland county, 129 pounds, 11 shillings, being the amount due the decedent for his commission and mileage, on his receipts and payments as county treasurer, he and the estate of Frederick Antes shall be exonerated from the payment of 601 pounds, 13 shillings, and 5 pence, for which judgement was had in teh court of common pleas of Northumberland county, against Frederick Evans, as administrator of Frederick Antes. 6 Mar 1812. 61. An act for the relief of JACOB ROUSE, a wounded soldier. That the state treasurer is hereby required to pay to Jacob Rouse, of Northampton county, forty dollars, immediately, and forty dollars annually, to be paid half yearly during life, to commence from 1 Jan 1812. 6 Mar 1812. 62. An act for the relief of JOHN WILSON, and DAVID HESS. Whereas MARGARET WILSON, widow, for herself and children purchased of ANDREW ALLEN, 218 acres, in Allen twp., Northampton county, in 1776, at the rate of $12.00 per acres, and whereas the consideration money was confiscated for the use of the commonwealth, agreeable to an act passed 6 Mar 1778, and by legal conveyances the estate has since been vested in John Wilson, and David Hess, and John Wilson was in October, 1809, evicted from 52 acres and 20 perches by a title paramount in MARGARET DELANEY of the kingdom of Great Britain, and David Hess was on the same day, by the title of Margaret Delancy, evicted from 60 acres and 96 1/2 perches, and it is just and reasonable that John and David be indemnified for the loss, therefore, the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to John Wilson, the sum of $126.00 in full compensation for all costs and damages by being evicted. That the state tresurer is hereby authorized to pay to David Hess the sum of $148.07 in full compensation for all costs and damages by being evicted. 10 Mar 1812. 63. An act granting a tract of donation to JACOB SPEIDER, an old soldier. That the land officers are hereby directed to draw and patent to Jacob Speider, 200 acres of donation land. 10 Mar 1812. 64. An act to incorporating the PA company, for insurance on lives, etc. That JOHN WELSH, JOHN WARDER, and JACOB SHOEMAKER, are hereby constituted and appointed commissioners, for insurances on lives, and granting annuities, and the first directors shall be JOSEPH BELL, JOHN CLAXTON, LEWIS D. CARPENTER, JACOB SPERRY, JOSEPH PEACE, PATRICK GERNON, HENRY LENTZ, THOMAS P. COPE, MAHLON HUTCHINSON, JOHN BOHLEN, ANDREW PETIT, JOHN K. HELMUTH, and SAMUEL YORK. 10 Mar 1812. 65. An act for the relief of JOHN HOSKINS and DANIEL DOUGHERTY, old soldiers. That the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to John Hoskins the sum of forty dollars, and an annuity of forty dollars, to be paid yearly during life, to THOMAS BAIRD of Allegheny county, to be expanded in providing clothing and diet for John Hoskins, to commence 1 Jan 1812. That the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to Daniel Doughery the sum of forty dollars, and an annuity of forty dollars to be paid half yearly, during life, to JAMES SCOTT, of Butler county, to be expended in providing clothing and diet for Daniel Doughery, commencing on 1 Jan 1812. 10 Mar 1812. 66. An act concerning a contract with JOHN BINNS. That the governor is hereby authorized to contract with John Binns, for 750 copies of the English statutes, which are in force in PA and to be well bound and lettered, not to exceed $2.00 per copy. 10 Mar 1812. 68. An act for the relief of RICHARD HARDING. That the treasurer shall pay to Richard Harding, the sum of $144.41 with interest since 14 Jan 1794, being the amount due to Richard Harding, for his depreciation pay, which was escheated to this commonwealth. 10 Mar 1812. 69. An act granting an annuity to JOSEPH JOHNSON, for life, and also granting him a tract of donation land. Whereas certificates of funded debt were issued to Robert Love, of Northumberland county, (now Lycoming) numbered 4758, 4962, and 6005 and that a certificate numbered 6018, issued to JOHN LOVE, his minor son, were lost on their way to Robert Love, and have never been redeemed by the commonwealth, therefore, the accounting officers are hereby authorized to settle and adjust with Robert Love, for the debt certificates, and the amount due paid by the state treasurer. 10 Mar 1812. 73. An act to enable the guardians of DAVID MACLAY and ROBERT MACLAY, minor children of SAMUEL MACLAY, late of Northumberland county, dec., to make partition of their half of real estate. Whereas Samuel Maclay of Northumberland county, dec., by his last will and testament, devised his real estate to his children, and desired them to make partition, and whereas, two of the children being minors under the age of 21 are unable to release to the other devisees the partition, therefore, WILLIAM A. PATTERSON, guardian of David Maclay and ELIZABETH MACLAY, guardian of Robert Maclay, the minor children are hereby authorized to make partition of the lands belonging to the minors and other devisees. 13 Mar 1812. 74. An act for the relief of MAGDALENA ENNES, widow of the late LIEUTENANT BENJAMIN ENNES, who was slain in battle by the Indians, during the revolutionary war. An act to empower the trustees of churches to convey land. Whereas the trustees of the German Calvanist congregation of Bethel Church, in Albany twp., Berks county, and of the Calvanist congregation of Jacob's church, and of the Calvanist congregation of Ebethnezer church, in Lynn twp., Northampton county, have represented that EDMUND PHYSICK, agent for JOHN PENN, by deed, dated 17 Oct 1799, did grant, sell and convey unto FERDINAND RITTER, JOHN SMITH, and JACOB OSWALD, trustees of the congregations a tract of land containing 12 1/2 acres, and not hold the land as tenents in common, therefore, they are hereby authorized to sell and convey the land to the purchaser, and apply the money for the benefit of the congregations. 20 Mar 1812. 90. An act authorizing GEORGE FEIDT, to execute a title to MICHAEL SHADEL, for real estate. Whereas a tract of 161 acres, situate in Upper Paxton twp., Dauphin county, was granted by the commonwealth to HENRY MOYER and JOHN DEEDY, trustees of the reformed congregation, and GEORGE WIRTH and JACOB SHOOP, trustees of the Lutheran congregation, and on 17 Aug 1808, released one equal half part of the tract of land each to the other, and the Lutheran congregation has lately erected a public house of worship on their part and to defray expenses wish to sell 20 acres and 64 perches to Michael Shadel, therefore, George Feidt, the present trustee is hereby authorized to make and execute a deed for the land ajoining lands of ANDREW OSSMAN, JOHN NOLL and others to Michael Shadel. 20 Mar 1812. 93. An act appointing commissioners for taking care of the public property of Erie and Waterford. That THOMAS WILSON, JOHN BOYD, and JOHN LYTLE of Erie county, are hereby appointed commissioners to take charge of the tract of land and lots, together with all the buildings and improvements erected, for public use at Presque Isle, 60 acres, to maintain a fort or military establishment, but have long since ceased to maintain a fort and was fast going to ruin, they are to care for the area, and see that no damage shall in future be sustained by reason of trespasses or damaging the same. 20 Mar 1812. 97. An act granting a donation tract of land to the heirs of JOSEPH POTTS, a captain in the PA line, during the revolutionary war. Whereas Joseph Potts entered the service of his country at the commencement of the revolutionary war, as a lieutenant, and in 1776 was promoted to the rank of captain. At the battle of Brandywine he was wounded by a musket ball in the thigh which broke the bone, and also by a thrust of the bayonet which passed through his shoulder and in the same engagement he was taken prisoner on 1 Jul 1778, he became deranged, by the act of congress, and consequently entitled to donation land, therefore, the land officers are hereby directed to issue a patent for 500 acres of donation land, to the heirs of Captain Joseph Potts, in the usual manner. 20 Mar 1812. 99. An act to annul the marriage of BENJAMIN HARRISSON and MARGARET HARRISSON, his wife. Whereas Margaret Harrisson, of the Northern Liberties, and county of Philadelphia, contracted marriage with Benjamin Harrisson on 29 May 1802, that shortly after their intermarriage her husband regardless of his matrimonial vows, commenced a series of abusive conduct towards her and neglected to provide for his young and rising family, and in contempt of the laws of God and man gave himself up to an irregular life, therefore, the marriage contract between Benjamin Harrisson and his wife Margaret is hereby declared null and void, and the parties released from all duties as fully as if they had never been joined in marriage, but nothing herein shall be construed to render illegitimate any children born of the body of Margaret during her coverture. 24 Mar 1812. 100. An act to change a name. That JESSE HOMER, of the city of Philadelphia, shall be known by the name of JESSE HENDERSON JONES, and capable in law as if there had been no name change. 24 Mar 1812. 101. An act to compensate JOHN SHOOK, for services in the late American revolution. That the state treasurer is hereby directed to pay John Shook, of Northampton county, sixty dollars immediately, as full compensation for pay due him for service rendered in the late war with Great Britain. 24 Mar 1812. 106. An act for the relief of ISAAC WOOD and ELIZABETH WOOD, minors, children of BENJAMIN WOOD, late of the city of Philadelphia, dec. Whereas BENJAMIN HARBESON, late of the city of Philadelphia, on 28 Aug 1780, purchased a two story brick messuage and lot on Fourth street, between High and Chestnut, sold as the estate of ISAAC ALLEN, which Benjamin Harbeson and wife, afterwards sold and conveyed to ROBERT PATTON of the same city, and Robert Patton of the city, sold and conveyed to Benjamin Wood, and Benjamin in the month of Sep 1798, died intestate, leaving two children, Isaac and Elizabeth Wood, then minors, to whom the messuage and lot descended, and JOSEPH KEEN and JACOB THOMAS, then guardians. The messuage and lot were sold by the agents of confiscated estates, and granted and conveyed to the commonwealth by the commonwealth, to the trustees of the University of PA, were recovered afterwards by a judgement of the supreme court of the commonwealth, and as Isaac and Elizabeth Wood, were on 8 Jan 1811, evicted from the premises by a title paramount in a SARAH ALLEN, it is just and reasonable that they should be indemnified for the losses they sustained, therefore, a warrant is to be drawn on the treasurer in favor of Joseph Keen and Jacob Thomas, guardians, for the sum of $1320.73, as full compensation for all losses which Isaac and Elizabeth sustained in consequence of their eviction, and upon them reaching 21 any money due them plus interest, shall be paid them. 24 Mar 1812. 107. An act to issue patents to claimants of land in Luzerne and Bradford. In all cases where an entry in the land office, showing the quantity of acres, etc., and where it appears the Connecticut settler is the owner of any land valued and entered in the books, the board of property is hereby empowered to decide on such claim, provided that nothing shall give any power to the board touching the claim of JOHN SHEPHARD and BENJAMIN DORRANCE to what is called the Mammoth Farm, which matters are being tried in the supreme court of the borough of Lancaster. 24 Mar 1812. 108. An act for the relief of a wounded soldier and the widow of a soldier. That the treasurer is hereby directed to pay to HENRY M'EUEN, of Centre county, the sum of sixty dollars for his sufferings in the revolutionary war. That the state treasurer pay unto MARY GORDON, of Bedford county, the sum of forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars from 1 Jan last, to be paid half yearly, during her life. 24 Mar 1812. 113. An act for the relief of JOHN SCHRIBER, and SEBILLA SCHRIBER. Whereas a warrant was granted PETER SCHRIBER, on 19 Aug 1766, for 200 acres in Manchester twp., York county, and on entry in the land office books, it stated the land was situate in the Manor of Springetsbury, and charged at the rate of 100 pounds per 100 acres, and has since been found the land was not within the manor, and other lands were charged 15 pounds, 10 shillings per hundred acres, therefore, the land office is authorized to make settlement on the amount due on the warrant charging the correct rate, with interest, to John Schriber and Sebilla Schriber (widow and relict of MICHAEL SCHRIBER, lately deceased), legal representatives of Peter Schriber. 24 Mar 1812. 114. An act for the relief of a wounded soldier. Whereas STOFFEL WEIGELL served as a soldier in CAPTAIN BENJAMIN WEISER's company, commmanded by COLONEL HUSECKER, and was wounded in his ancle, and being taken sick at Valley Forge, was honorably discharged, being unfit for duty, therefore, the state treasurer is hereby directed to pay unto Stoffel Weigell, the sum of forty dollars. 27 Mar 1812. 115. An act to enable the selling and conveyance of a tract of land. Whereas JOHN MEREDITH, late of Vincent twp., Chester county, did by his last will and testament, dated 25 Feb 1769, devise to his daughter, ANN MILHOUSE, now ANN BALDWIN, a remainder of a plantation and tract of land situate in Coventry twp., adjoining land in the same will devised to SIMON MEREDITH, and containing 125 acres, to hold during her life time, and directing his executors to sell the same after the decease of Ann and to divide the money among a number of devisees, and it appears the land is unproductive and insufficient for her support and Ann and the other devisees wish to sell it but one of the heirs is a minor, therefore, Simon Meredith the surviving executor of John Meredith, and DAVID HILLIS of Chester county, are hereby authorized to sell and convey the tract of land mentioned. 27 Mar 1812. 116. An act for the relief of old soldiers. That the state treasurer is hereby directed to pay to GEORGE WISEMAN of Cumberland county, the sum of forty dollars immediately, and to SAMUEL SMILEY of Chester county, and HENRY SHADE of Northampton county, severally, the sum of forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars during their lives, to commence on 1 Jan 1812, and to be paid half yearly. That the sum of forty dollars is hereby granted to WILLIAM JOHNSON, of Chester county, immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars be granted for the use of William Johnson during his life, to be paid to JAMES M'CALMONT, to commence 1 Jan 1812 and to be paid half yearly, to provide clothing, diet and lodging for William Johnson. 27 Mar 1812. 117. An act for the final settlement of the claim of EDMUND MILNE. Whereas Edmund Milne during the revolutionary war, by order of JOSEPH REED, then president of the supreme executive council of PA, delivered 185 barrels of flour to JOHN HOLKER ESQ., for the use of the French Marine, and by the act 17 Feb 1806 has received the principal due but not the interest, therefore, the auditor general is to allow him interest and pay the same. 27 Mar 1812. 118. An act to enable EDWARD DELA MONTANYE, to convey a piece of land to the purchasers. Whereas TIMOTHY MERRICK late of the borough of Bristol, Bucks county, dec., was seized of a lot in the borough, bounded by land of AMELIA BROWN, which after his death, was adjudged to his daughter ANN MERRICK, who afterwards married Edward Dela Montanye, of Southwark, Philadelphia county, and they sold and agreed to convey the lot to JOHN REED and SAMUEL CHURCH for the sum of $266.67, but Ann having deceased, before the title was completed, leaving 2 children in their minority, therefore, Edward Dela Montanye is hereby authorized to make and execute a deed of conveyance to John Reed and Samuel Church, to the lot, and the proceeds applied for the benefit of the heirs of the deceased. 27 Mar 1812. 121. An act granting a tract of donation land. Whereas, CHARLES MARTIN enlisted in 1777, a sergeant-major in the PA line, and continued therein, till 1781, when he was drafted and attached to GENERAL ARMANG's legionary corps, where he remained until discharged at the close of the war, in 1783, and having never received that donation land which his service entitled his to, therefore, he shall be placed on the list of soldiers, entitled to donation lands and on application, shall draw, and patent him such donation lands as his services and rank in the army entitle him to. 27 Mar 1812. 122. An act for the relief of EMANUEL BOLLINGER and VALENTINE WEIRICK. Whereas Emanuel Bollinger and Valentine Weirick, in Dauphin county, were enlisted as private soldiers in CAPTAIN MATTHEW SMITH's company, in the 1st PA regiment, which marched from Lancaster county to Boston in 1775 and from thence marched under the command of GENERAL BENEDICT ARNOLD to Quebec, during which period they suffered great hardships and had to support themselves for about seven months, for which they have not received any remuneration, therefore, Emanuel Bollinger is hereby allowed the sum of forty dollars, and Valentine Weirick is hereby allowed the sum of sixty dollars, to be in full for rations furnished by themselves. 27 Mar 1812. 123. An act granting an annuity to a wounded soldier. That the sum of forty dollars is hereby granted to EDWARD QUIGLEY, of Centre county, immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars for the use of Edward Quigley for life, to be paid half yearly to JOHN G. LOWREY of Bellefonte, to commence on 1 Jan last, to provide clothing and diet for Edward Quigley. 27 Mar 1812. 124. An act granting, in trust, donation land. That the land officers are hereby directed to issue a patent to SUSANNA STOKELY, widow of CAPTAIN NEHEMIAH STOKELY, dec., in trust for the children of Nahemiah Stokely, for such quantity of donation land as officers of equal rank in the revolutionary war were entitled to. 27 Mar 1812. 125. An act to purchase, and make free a bridge. That JAMES M'FARLAND of Schuylkill county, GEORGE NACE, of York county, and JOHN RITCHEY of Dauphin county, are hereby appointed commissioners in conjunction with the commissioners named by ABRAHAM WITMER, to estimate the sum he is entitled to for the stone bridge across the Conestogoe river, built and owned by him, the sum not exceed $10,418.34, or a gate shall be erected to receive tolls, otherwise the bridge will be free of tolls. 27 Mar 1812. 126. An act to sell and convey a school house, and lot of land in Moorland twp., Montgomery county. Whereas JOHN JONES and MARY JONES his wife, by indenture, dated 15 Mar 1749, did grant and convey to THOMAS LLOYD and others, a lot of land on the east side of Byberry road, near the village of Hatborough, Montgomery county, in trust, for the purpose of erecting a school house, for the benefit of the inhabitants, and whereas Loller academy has been erected, about 1 1/2 mile from the school house, and inhabitants have petitioned to authorize a sale and the money to go 1/2 to the Loller academy and the other 1/2 towards defraying the expenses of erecting another school house, one mile east of the old school house, therefore, NATHANIEL B. BOILEAU, THOMAS B. MONTANYE, and GOVE MITCHELL, are hereby authorized to sell a school house called the Hatborough school and a lot in Moorland twp., Montgomery county, by land of John Jones (now MAHLON V. BOOSKIRK's land ) and Nathaniel B. Boileau, Thomas B. Montanye, and Gove Mitchell, are hereby empowered to execute a deed to the purchaser, 1/2 to Loller academy, and the other half to erect a school house on land of ISAAC PICKERING, adjoining the road dividing the counties of Bucks and Montgomery. 30 Mar 1812. 133. An act enabling a committee to sell and convey real estate. Whereas by the proceedings in the court of common pleas of York county, MARGARET BEECHLER, DANIEL BROOKHART and ISAAC KIRK, were by the court appointed a committee to take care of the person and estate of HENRY BEECHLER, a lunatic, and the incomes of his real estate are insufficient to pay the debts due and provide for the future maintenance of himself and young children, therefore, the committee are hereby authorized to sell part of the real estate, and to make a deed to the purchasers. 30 Mar 1812. 136. An act to authorize the erection of a toll bridge over the Allegheny river. That it shall be lawful for HENRY CONRAD, to erect, maintain and support a substantial bridge across the Allegheny river, at the place where the public road from the division line of New York and PA to Smethport, M'Kean county, and the bridge is hereby vested in Henry Conrad. 30 Mar 1812. 137. An act to erect new election districts and change existing districts. That the electors of the district composed of Fairfield twp., and part of Fallowfield twp., in Crawford county, shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by ALEXANDER DUNN, in Fairfield twp., the electors of Nescopeck twp, Luzerne county, shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by CHRISTIAN ASH, at the mouth of Wopehawley creek, the electors of Bensalim twp., Bucks county, shall hold their elections at the Indian Queen tavern, now occupied by DANIEL LURREW, the electors of Upper Smithfield twp., Wayne county, shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by GEORGE BUCHANAN, in the town of Milford. That North Huntingdon twp., Westmoreland county, shall be a separate election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house where JOSEPH BYERLEY formerly lived, and now belonging to ANDREW BYERLEY. That the electors of part of Long swamp twp., Berks county, lying between Hereford twp., and a line drawn from District twp., past JACOB CORLE, THEOBALD CORLE, MICHAEL TRES, CHRISTIAN RITZ, JOHN FREDERICK, and JOHN ONNAR, until it strikes the Northampton county line, are hereby directed to hold their elections at the house now occupied by GEORGE HOOF, in Hereford twp. An act to dissolve a marriage contract. Whereas JACOB ZINN JR., was married to EVE ERMEL on 15 Nov 1808, the marriage taking place in consequence of Eve having taken an oath before HENRY REIM ESQ., of Lancaster county, on 11 Nov 1808, charging Jacob with being the father of a child, with which she was then pregnant, it further appears, that Eve on 7 Nov 1808, appeared before PETER NAGLE ESQ., of Berks county, and on her oath did declare that JACOB SANDO was the father of a child of which she was then pregnant, from which it appears that Jacob Zinn was by intimidation and fear, and in the years of his minority, under the age of 18, compelled to enter into the marriage in consequence of the oath of a person, which in the nature thereof cannot be true, therefore, the marriage contract between Jacob Zinn Jr., and EVE ZINN, his wife, is hereby declared null and void, and the parties set free, as if no marriage had ever existed. 31 Mar 1812. 146. A supplement to an act enabling a committee to sell and dispose of the real estate of JACOB PALMER, a lunatic. Whereas FREDERICK HEISZ, who together with JOHN B. PALMER, was appointed a committee to take care of the person and estate of JACOB PALMER, a lunatic, has refused to act under the provisions of the act, therefore, John B. Palmer of the city of Philadelphia, is hereby authorized to perform all things mentioned by the act as fully as they both could do so. 31 Mar 1812. 157. An act to vest the title of the commonwealth to an escheated estate. Whereas WILLIAM GREGG, an alien, late of Washington county, died seized of at tract of land, containing 112 acres, having by his last will devised the same to his son ROBERT GREGG, and the tract of land by reason of the alienage of William Gregg, escheated to the commonwealth to the prejudice of the devisee, therefore, all right, title and interest of the commonwealth in the tract of land situate in Pikerun twp., Washington county, is hereby remised and released to Robert Gregg, son and devisee of William Gregg. 31 Mar 1812. 158. An act to vest an escheated estate. That all title, and claim which the commonwealth may have acquired by reason of any escheat from the want of heirs or kindred, to HENRY MONEY, late of Westmoreland county, dec., is hereby vested in ELIZABETH FRANTZ, daughter of JACOB FRANTZ, of Westmoreland county, subject to all liens, debts and claims. 31 Mar 1812. 160. An act authorizing a guardian to sell a house and lot, property of the minors. Whereas PETER HOUSEL of Milton, Northumberland county, died interstate, seized of a house and lot in the town of Milton, and it appears that the buildings are in a decaying state, being of wood, and out of repair, are not in a situation to rent, therefore, it shall be lawful for BETHUEL VINCENT, guardian of the minor children of Peter Housel, dec., to sell and convey a house and lot. 31 Mar 1812. 167. An act to review parts of state roads. That the court of Butler county, is hereby authorized to appoint viewers, to review part of the road from Butler to Franklin, which lies between JAMES PHILIP's lane, about 6 miles from Butler, to the county line of Venango. That the court of Mercer county, is hereby authorized to appoint viewers, to review part of the state road, leading from the town of Mercer to the town of Butler, lying between the line dividing the counties of Mercer and Butler, and JOHN M'MULLEN's farm in Mercer county. 31 Mar 1812. 168. An act for the relief of SUSANNA BURRAS. That the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to Susanna Burras, of Erie county, late wife of ROBERT BURRAS, dec., $83.20, as a full compensation for the purchase money and fees paid by her husband, Robert Burras, for a warrant of 400 acres. 31 Mar 1812. 169. An act dissolving a marriage. Whereas ELSA VANGORDEN was on 18 Dec 1795, joined in marriage to LEVI MIDDOUGH, with whom she lived for 14 years, in which time she had 5 children, that during the time Elsa lived with Levi, he treated her in a most cruel and inhuman manner, by beating her, and at different times threatening to take her life, so that she was often obliged to fly to her neighbours for protection, and it also appears Elsa is a woman of good moral character, and whereas it would be cruel in the extreme to oblige a woman to live with a man that has continued so inhumanly and barbarously to treat her, therefore, the marriage contract of ELSA MIDDOUGH and Levi Middough, her husband, is hereby declared null and void, and they are set free from all duties as if they had never been joined in married, but nothing contained shall be construed to render illegitimate any children born of Elas during the coverture. 31 Mar 1812. 170. An act authorizing the sale of real estate. Whereas JOHN HANNAH, late of Antrim twp., Franklin county, died intestate, leaving neither widow nor issue, and was seized with a piece of ground containing 83 acres, and 109 perches, which land descended to his four sisters, SARAH HANNAH, wife of JAMES MORROW, ELIZBETH HANNAH, wife of HENRY MORROW, JANE HANNAH, wife of JOHN WHEREY, and ANNE HANNAH, wife of SAMUEL ADAMS, and whereas it appears Anne, wife of Samuel Adams, has since deceased, leaving her fourth part of the estate to be divided amongst her 6 children, four of whom are minors, and as the estate is annually sinking by reason of taxes and depredations, therefore, it shall be lawfull for James Morrow and Henry Morrow, administrators of the estate of John Hannah, dec., to sell and convey the piece of land to a purchaser and enter into bonds approved by the orphans court of Allegheny, for the trust reposed in them. 31 Mar 1812. 172. An act to annul the marriage. Whereas SARAH ROSE, late SARAH COULTER, was on 13 Sep 1810, lawfully married to SAMUEL ROSE JR., of Westmoreland county, and that Samuel Rose Jr. at a court of Oyer and Terminer, & etc. held at Greensburg, on 1 Jul 1811 was convicted of burglary and stealing the mail of the United States, for which he was sentenced to forfeit his lands and tenements, goods and chattels to the commonwealth and imprisoned in the jail and penitentiary house of Philadelphia, for the term of ten years, two of which were to be confined in some of the solitary cells where he now remains, therefore, the marriage contract between Samuel Rose Jr., and Sarah his wife, is hereby annulled and the parties set free from all duties as fully, as if they had never been joined in marriage. 31 Mar 1812. 173. An act to authorize the sale of real estate. Whereas, BENJAMIN JOHNSTON/BENJAMIN JOHNTON, late of Lower Chichester, Delaware county, dec., was seized of real estate which was divided among his legal representatives and the part assigned to WILLIAM O'HARRA, a minor, under the age of 14, has to pay $300.00 to the other representatives, that it is out of repair and unproductive, and his guardian JOHN L. PEARSON, has presented a petition, therefore, John L. Pearson, is hereby empowered to sell and convey all of the lot of land, bounded by lands of ERASMUS MORTON, ISAAC DOUTTON, DAVID COBURN, and ANDREW TARTON, containing 31 acres, and make a deed to the purchaser, and the money from the sale to be used to pay the payment against the land, and the residue placed at interest for the benefit of the minor. 31 Mar 1812. 174. An act to incorporate a company, to make a road from Gettysburg to the western end of Miller's town in Adams county. An act to convey a tract of land. Whereas AGNESS SIMPSON was seized of a tract of land in Centre twp., Indiana county, situate on Cherry run, containing 130 acres, adjoining lands of WILLIAM M'KEE, and others, and being seized, intermarried with ROBERT ALLISON, who in conjunction with and consent of his wife, did sell the tract to WILLIAM HAMILTON, for the sum of $325.00, the greater part of the purchase money was paid during the lifetime of Agness, and whereas Agness is since deceased, and there is no written evidence, therefore, Robert Allison of Indiana county, is hereby authorized to execute to William Hamilton, a deed of conveyance to vest all the right and title to a tract of land, surveyed in pursuance of a warrant granted to Agness Simpson, late AGNESS ALLISON, dec., dated 10 Apr 1793. 31 Mar 1812. 176. An act a committee to convey part of a tract of land. Whereas br the court of common pleas of York county, ELIZABETH WILSON and GEORGE SPANGLER were appointed a committee to take care of the person and estate of THOMAS WILSON, a lunatic, and Thomas Wilson and JAMES PATTERSON, were jointly seized of a tract of 281 acres and 147 perches, situate in Charceford twp., as tenants in common, which has been divided, but by reason of lunacy, Thomas is unable to release to James the part alloted to him, therefore, it shall be lawful for the committee to make and execute to James Patterson, yeoman, a deed of conveyance, to release all right and title of land adjoining JOSEPH REED and others, to James Patterson. 31 Mar 1812. 178. An act to dissolve a marriage contract. Whereas about sixteen years since, a WILLIAM M'GLAUGHLIN, now of White Deer twp., Northumberland county, intermarried with ISABELLA M'CURLY, that they continued to live together for near six years, that the cruel treatment of the husband to his wife was such as to compel her to leave him, or to remain at the eminent hazard of her life, therefore, the marriage contract between William Mc'Glaughlin, and ISABELLA M'GLAUGHLIN, his wife, is hereby dissolved as fully as if they were never joined in wedlock, provided nothing herein shall be construed to render illegitimate the offspring of William and Isabella during the coverture. 31 Mar 1812. 180. An act to validate and confirm the proceedings of justices of the peace, of Centre county, and Crawford county. That all official acts of FREDERICK HAYMAKER, a justice of the peace for Allegheny county, performed in Crawford county, are hereby confirmed and made as valid as if he had been commissioned a justice of the peace for Crawford county. 31 Mar 1812. 182. An act for the relief of the widow of an officer in the revolution. An act to vest an estate. That all the title, claim and demand which this commonwealth may have acquired by reason of any escheat, of the estate for want of heirs or kindred of the estate of JOHN HANNIS, whereof he died possessed, shall be vested in JACOB YOUNG, son of CHRISTIAN YOUNG and LEHNA YOUNG, of Passyunk twp., Philadelphia county, half brother of John Hannis, who was also a son of Lehna. 31 Mar 1812. 190.
