An act for the relief of ADAM MENGEL, and JACOB WERTMAN and JOHN ADAM GENTSEL, revolutionary soldiers. That the State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to Adam Mengel of Schuylkill county, soldier, forty dollars immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars during life, payable half yearly to commence on 1 Jan 1836. The State Treasurer is authorized to pay to Jacob Wertman of Schuylkill county, and John Adam Gentsel of Columbia county, a gratuity of forty dollars each immediately, in full for their revolutionary services. 12 Jan 1836. 4. An act for the relief of sundry soldiers and widows of soldiers of the revolutionary war. The State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to JOHN BARNHISER of Franklin county, ANTHONY SNIDER of Cumberland county, HENRY PRICE of Centre county, GODFRIED DREHER and BERNARD KEPNER of Schuylkill county, ANDREW FLATT and PHILIP ENDE of Lycoming county, soldiers of the the revolutionary war, and CHRISTINA LEININGER, a widow of a soldier of the revolutionary war, forty dollars to each immediately, as a gratuity, and an annuity of forty dollars each, during life, payable half yearly, to commence from the 1 Jan 1836. The State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to SAMUEL HENDERSON of Indiana county, a gratuity of forty dollars, in full for his revolutionary services. The State Treasurer is hereby required to pay to the widow of NICHOLAS GOOSHORN, late of Juniata county, dec. the gratuity of forty dollars which was granted to said deceased during last session. 12 Jan 1836. 5. A supplement to the act entitled "An act for the relief of sundry soldiers and widows of soldiers of the revolutionary war." That BARBARA KEIGLEY shall receive the gratuity and annuity given to her by the name of BARBARA REIGLEY, by an act passed 15 Apr 1835. 12 Jan 1836. 6. An act to authorize the trustees for the members composing the first New Jerusalem Church in the city of Philadelphia, to sell and convey real estate. That MASKELL M. CARL, JACOB A. TRYON and JOSEPH RANDALL trustees, are hereby authorized to sell and convey, a certain lot of ground, situate on Bush-hill, and described in a indenture to the trustees, dated 8 Jul 1827, and recorded in deed book G.W.R., #20, page 403. 18 Jan 1836. 10. An act authorizing the executors of the last will and testament of AMOS DARLINGTON deceased, to sell and convey certain real estate. Whereas by the last will and testament of Amos Darlington, late of West Goshen Twp., Chester county, dec. a portion of real estate, a ten acre out lot of woodland, was devised to his wife ELIZABETH DARLINGTON, during her natural lifetime, and after her death, to his son AMOS DARLINGTON to take the same at valuation, and if refused to be sold by his executors. An exchange of the wood lot, which is cut off from the remainder by a raod, with TOWNSEND EACHUS, for an equal quantity of wood land adjoining the wood lot would be mutually advantageous to the parties. Therefore, Elizabeth Darlington and Amos Darlington, executors, are hereby authorized to make and execute a deed of conveyance to Townsend Eachus for the out lot containing 1 acre, 1 rood and 34 perches, upon receiving from Townsend Eachus, a deed of conveyance for an equal quantity of woodland. 25 Jan 1836. 13. An act for the relief of LEWIS WRIGHT and others, soldiers of the revolutionary war. The State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to Lewis Wright of Greene county, JAMES COOK of Chester county, SAMUEL CLARK of Berks county, JAMES STEPHENSON of Juniata county, soldiers of the revolutionary war, forty dollars to each immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars to each, during life, payable half yearly, to commence on 1 Jan 1836. The State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to WILLIAM M'DOWELL of York county, and THOMAS DEEDS of Montgomery county, a gratuity of forty dollars to each immediately, in full for their revolutionary services. 28 Jan 1836. 15. An act relative to certain parts of the estate of ELIZABETH POWELL, deceased. Whereas, Elizabeth Powel, formerly of the city of Philadelphia, dec. did by her last will and testament, dated Jan 1830, devise to certain trustees a certain estate called Powelton, and also a lot of land on the Wissahicken road, in trust for the use of her nephew JOHN HARE POWEL, for life, with remainder to his oldest son SAMUEL POWEL for life, and after his decease to the first and other sons of Samuel, successively, and in default of issue, to the other sons of John Hare Powel, successively, and upon failure of issue, to SAMUEL POWEL GRIFFITTS and his heirs. if alive, if not, then to CHARLES WILLING and his heirs. Whereas it has become impracticable to execute in this manner, without accepting inferior rents greatly to the future prejudice of unborn devisees, as well as said tenants for life an act shall be passed authorizing the respective tenants for life, to reserve redeemable instead of irredeemable rents.^ Therefore, that any person that now has, or shall have, an estate for use for life shall have the power to grant and convey the same, reserving a perpetual annual rent payable half yearly, and redeemable within any number of years, not less then two, by the payment of a sum of money, not less then sixteen years and two-thirds of a year purchase of the annual rent. This money shall be made payable to the surviving trustees and when paid, invested in real securities, in trust for the same persons estates, uses declared in the will, but no person paying the redemption money shall be bound to see the application thereof. 2 Feb 1836. 17. An act for the relief of WILLIAM BLADEN. That the right, title and claim of this comonwealth, in the real estate, situate in Mill Creek Twp., Erie county, of JACOB BLADEN, the illegitimate son of BOO BLADEN, late of Mill Creek Twp., Erie county, dec. who died intestate without heirs, is hereby vested in William Bladen. 2 Feb 1836. 18. A supplement to an act reviewing the state road from the Indiana town, in Indiana county, to Pittsburg passed 25 Mar 1814. An act for the relief of sundry soldiers and widows of soldiers of the revolutionary war. An act for the relief of SIMON LINK and others, soldiers and widows of soldiers of the revolutionary war. That the State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to SIMON LINK, VALENTINE BROWN, WILLIAM DEHM and GEORGE BECK of Berks county, JOHN CAMERON of Huntingdon county, SAMUEL LOWNSBURY of Bucks county, JOHN MCVAUGH of Philadelphia county, GEORGE REEM of Westmoreland county, JOHN ADAM FERST of Lancaster county, ADAM KNITTEL of Schuylkill county, soldiers of the revolutionary war, and ELIZABETH RIGHTMYER of Berks county, the widow of a soldier of the revolutionary war, forty dollars each, immediately, as a gratuity, and an annuity of forty dollars to each during life, payable half yearly, to commence on 1 Jan 1836. 12 Feb 1836.^ 23. An act to change the location of that part of the Columbia, Chiques and Marietta road, which passes through the land of ELIZABETH BETHEL, MARY BETHEL, and SUSAN BETHEL, in the county of Lancaster, at their expense, from where it is now located and to remove the same to any distance on their own land, not exceeding 75 feet, provided the road shall be made in all respects as good as the present road, and that the Columbia, Cliques and Marietta road and bridge company receive no damage or put to any expense. 26 Feb 1836. 26. An act to authorize WILLIAM WILLIAMSON of the borough of West Chester, trustee of the children of TAYLOR SEAL, to sell and dispose of certain personal property left under the will of WILLIAM SEAL, M.D. deceased. Whereas, by the last will and testament of William Seal, M.D., late assistant surgeon of the U.S. Navy, certain articles of household furniture, in the possession of his uncle JACOB TAYLOR, were to remain in the care of his executor until the youngest child of his brother Taylor Seal became 21 years of age. As some of the property is of a perishable character and many years are likely to elapse before the same can be distributed, therefore William Williamson, trustee, is hereby authorized to sell the articles of household furniture, plate excepted, and to invest proceeds. 26 Feb 1836. 27. It shall be lawful for the court of Quarter Sessions of Philadelphia county to examine into the amount of damages sustained by James Robb and others, in property, on the night of general election, 14 Oct 1834, in the township of Moyamensing, and draw an order on the treasurer of Philadelphia for the amount reported due to them. The total amount shall not exceed $6000.00. Only those who sustained damage at the time of the fire near the Commissioner's Hall, shall be remunerated and oaths may be administered to witnesses when examined. 11 Mar 1836. 36. An act for the relief of ROBERT BOYD, and other soldiers and widows of soldiers of the revolutionary war. An act to incorporate a company to erect a bridge over the Allegheny river, from Mechanic's street in the borough of the Northern Liberties of Pittsburg, in Allegheny county. That G.E. COOK, JACOB PAINTER, FREDERICK LORENZE, NICHOLAS VAGHELTY, JOHN SHONEBERGER, GEORGE MILTENBERGER, WM. MCNAIR and ROBERT WATSON are hereby appointed commissioners to erect a bridge. 14 Mar 1836. 39. An act to incorporate the Warren and Pine Grove Railroad Company. That ROBERT FALCONER, GUY C. IRVIN, ROBERT RUSSEL, ARCHIBALD TANNER, THOMAS STRUTHERS, ZACHARIAH EDDY, LANSING WETMORE, and WILLIAM A. IRVINE, JOHN REES, THOMAS MARTIN, THOMAS SLOAN, HENRY SARGEANT, are hereby appointed commissioners to construct a railroad of one or more tracts, from Warren to the New York state line. 14 Mar 1836. 40. An act regulating election districts, and for other purposes. The elections in Plunket twp., Lycoming county, shall be held at the house now occupied by JOHN WOODLEY, and the elections of Elkland twp., Lycoming county, shall be held at the house now occupied by JOHN MULLAN. The township of Springfield, Delaware county, shall be a separate election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the public house of MORRIS W. HESTON. That the electors of Sugargrove twp., Warren county, shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by JOHN J. WILSON. The electors of East Vincent twp., Chester county, shall hold their elections at the public house now kept by GEORGE CRISMAN JR., on the ridge road. The township of West Hempfield, Lancaster county, shall be an election district separate from the borough of Columbia, and hold their elections at the public house now occupied by JACOB GAMBER. The electors of the borough of Kittanning, Armstrong county, shall become a separate election district from the township of Kittanning, and the district of Kittanning twp., shall hold thier elections at the house of HENRY KING, and the borough at the court house. That the electors of the part of St. Clair twp., Allegheny county, known as the Obey's district, shall hold their elections at the house of JAMES KERNS, on the Washington and Pittsburg turnpike road. The part of Codoras twp., York county, shall become a separate election district, bounded: beginning near the distillery of MATHIAS MEYER, thence to the house of JOHN GALENTHINE, thence to the house of DANIEL HENRY SEN., shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by JOHN EMIG. The township of Haverford, Delaware county, shall form a separate election district and the electors shall hold their elections at the public house of DAVID LYONS. 17 Mar 1836. 41. An act to charter the Girard Life Insurance, Annuity and Trust Company of Philadelphia. That BENJAMIN W. SMITH, are hereby created and made a corporation or body politic and corporate. 17 Mar 1836. 42. An act to incorporate the Warren and Franklin Turnpike road company. For the purpose of making a turnpike road from the borough of Warren, Warren county, to Franklin, Venango county, ROBERT FALCONER, WILLIAM A. IRVINE, GREY C. An act to incorporate the Plymouth Railroad company. That SAMUEL MAULSBY, DR. JOSEPH LEEDOM, THOMAS LIVESEY, JOSIAH ALBERTSON, JOHN DAVIS, HARMAN YERKES, JACOB ALBERTSON, AARON LUKENS, JOHN FRIEDLEY, ALAN W. CORSON, BENJAMIN ALBERTSON, and DANIEL H. MULVANY, of Montgomery county, and THOMAS S. SMITH, of the city of Philadelphia, are hereby appointed commissioners, to open three books, one at the Exchange in Philadelphia, one at the public house of WALTER W. PAXSON, in the borough of Norristown, and one at the public house of BENJAMIN REZZER, in the township of Plymouth. and lay down a railroad, beginning in the lands of Samuel Maulsby, in the township of Whitemarsh, Montgomery county, and terminating at some point at the Philadelphia, Norristown, and Germantown railroad, between Matson's ford and Wagers's ford, on the river Schuylkill, in the township of Plymouth. 18 Mar 1836. 44. An act regulating Election districts and for other purposes. That the part of Shenango twp., Beaver county, lying west of the state road from Beaver to Mercer, shall be a separate election district, and the electors shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by HENRY WILSON, to be called Shenango district. That part of Hanover twp., Beaver county, lying south of the following shall be a separate election district. Beginning at the dividing line of Hanover and Hopewell twps., to the forks at _____ HARPER's mill, to the road leading from ______ MILLER's mill in Poughtown, etc. shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by JAMES DUNGAN, in Frankfort, and the electors north of the line shall hold their elections at the house of THOMAS M'GUIRE. An act for the relief of the heirs of HUGH JOHNSTON, and MARGARET PATTERSON. That the State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay the heirs of Hugh Johnston, late of the county of Cumberland, a soldier of the revolutionary war, $200.00 in lieu of a tract of donation land, due to him for his revolutionary services, upon due proof being made of their being the legitimate and legal heirs of Hugh Johnston. That the State Treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to Margaret Patterson, widow of ALEXANDER PATTERSON, late of the borough of Easton, dec. the sum of $341.93, the amount of a warrant WILLIAM FINDLEY and directed to RICHARD M. CRAIN, then State Treasurer, in favor of her late husband for his damages against the commonwealth, for land situate in the 17 townships of Luzerne county, taken from him, and certified to Connecticut claimants, which warrant appears never to have been paid. 16 Jun 1836. 189. An act to authorize ISAAC C. WORRELL and RICHARD STOUT, surviving trustees for the Free Will Baptists of the borough of Frankford, to sell certain real estate, and for other purposes. Whereas, WILLIAM SINGLETON and HANNAH H. SINGLETON, his wife, by indenture, dated 1 Jan 1818, did grant and convey in trust for the Free Will baptists of the borough of Frankford, Philadelphia county, a lot of ground, containing 67 perches, subject to an annual rent charge of $21.00, and as the congregation have erected a house of worship, and have now the means of paying. Therefore, Isaac C. Worrell, and Richard Stout, surviving trustees, are hereby authorized to sell and convey, this lot of ground and applying the proceeds of the sale toward payment of debts against the congregation. Whereas, the members of the Protestant Episcopal church of Morgantown, Berks county, own a lot containing about one acre, bounded by the lands of BENJAMIN GEHMAN, which is useless to the church, therefore, the church wardens are authorized to sell and convey to a purchaser said lot. That the title of a piece of ground, situate adjoining the borough of Orwigsburg, bounded by lands of late ABRAHAM AUGSTODT, of late, JOHN HAMMER and JAMES WIER, and others, containing 7 acres and 43 perches, convey by Abraham Augstodt to WILLIAM HUNTZINGER by deed, dated 22 Sep 1824, and assigned by Huntzinger to JOHN SELTZER, ABRAHAM AUGSTODT, and JOHN REED, then commissioners of the county of Schuylkill, deed recorded Book 5, pgs 33-35, and hereby vested in the county of Schuylkill, and the commissioners may lawfully sell and convey to a purchaser. Whereas the commissioners of Potter county, having sold two tracts of land, one situated in the township of Harrison, sold to DENNIS HALL, and the other in Eulalia twp., sold to JONATHAN EDGECOMB, and the commissioners are authorized to make and convey to the purchasers good deeds of conveyance. That the court of Philiadelphia county, is hereby authorized, upon application of GEORGE MILLER, of the district of Southwark, to make an order and decree directing the trustees of THOMAS LYONS, appointed on his being discharged under the insolvent laws of this commonwealth, to convey to George Miller, all of a lot situated on the west side of Second Street, bounded north by ground of JOHN R. FENWICK, south, by ground formerly of JOHN LEMER, and to make a good deed to George Miller, and that Thomas Lyons had recieved payment for the same. An act to authorize suit be brought upon the official bond of WILLIAM B. MITCHELL, late superintendent. That every person who may have been aggrieved by the failure of William B. Mitchell, superintendent of the Columbia railroad, to pay sums due by the commonwealth, and they shall be authorized to bring suit upon the official bond of the commonwealth, of William B. Mitchell, to secure the recovery of his claim. That the tract of land, bounded by the city of Pittsburg, shall be surveyed as a city district, beginning in the Monongahela river, over the house of WILLIAM FARROW, to the borough of the Northern Liberties, to the beginning. A supplement to an act to amend an act to incorporate the Pennsylvania and Ohio Canal company and for other purposes. That ROBERT STEWART of the borough of Mercer, Mercer county, JOHN CAROTHERS and ARCHIBALD HARVEY, Beaver county, are hereby appointed commissioners, to appraise damages by the construction of the PA. and Ohio canal. That FRANCIS B. NICHOLS of Suchuylkill county, ROBERT T. CONRAD of Philadelphia county, for the purpose of building steam vessels. Resolution relative to the accounts of PHILIP PELTZ, late treasurer of the county of Philadelphia. That the Auditor General is hereby intrusted to reconsider and adjust the accounts of Philip Peltz, late treasurer of the county of Philadelphia to the decision of the Supreme court of Pa. in the case of WILLIAM STEPHENS, State Treasurer is directed to pay whatever balance to Philip Peltz. 24 Feb 1836. R 2. Resolution relative to the claim of ARTHUR M'GILL, for damages. Whereas, Arthur M'Gill, a contractor for the transportation of the U.S. Mail from Pittsburg to Erie, sustained damages because of the public road between the mouth of Pine creed and the Allegheny bridge, in Allegheny county, being obstructed, and rendered at times impassable in the course of the construction of the Pa. Canal. Therefore, the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to inquire into the damages sustained by Arthur M'Gill. That they may issue subpoenas for witnesses and that the amount, if any, found to be justly coming to Arthur M'Gill, shall be paid. 27 Feb 1836. R 3. Resolution for the relief of Horton and Farrow, contractors upon the Beaver division of the Pa. canal. That the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to settle and adjust the claims of LEWIS HORTON and GEORGE FARROW, for work done on section 43 of the Beaver division of the Pa. canal. 27 Feb 1836. R 4. Resolution relative to the settlement of the account of CHARLES MOWRY, late acting Canal Commissioner. That the Auditor General is hereby authorized to open the account of Charles Mowry, late acting Canal commissioner, settled on the 23 Feb 1830, and re-examine it, as if it had never been closed. 9 Mar 1836. R 8. Resolution to authorized the Canal Commissioners to inquire into and adjust the claim of Jacobs and Cornog. That the Canal Commissioners are hereby authorized to inquire into the claim of damages sustained by BRINTON JACOBS and JOHN CORNOG, transporters of marble on the Philadelphia and Columbia railroad, caused by one of the engineers running one of the locomotive engines against their cars, 2 Oct 1835, and if the said damage done to the cars was occasioned by the negligence and inattention, and without any negligence on the part of the claimants, to pay the amount of damages. 29 Mar 1836. R 10. Resolution relative to the claim of LE GRAND BANCROFT and JOHN D. PETRIKEN, and BROWN and SAWYER, and JOSEPHINE C.B. NOURSE. That the Canal Commissioners are hereby authorized to settle the claims of Le Grand Bancroft, and John D. Petriken, late contractors on section 39, and of Brown and Sawyer, late contractors on section 37, on the Portage railroad, as may appear just under their contracts. That the board of Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to investigate the claims of Josephine C.B. Nourse, of the county of Northumberland, for work done by her late husband, as a contractor on the North Branch division of the Pa. canal, for damages sustained in the construction of the canal through her land, for property taken by the agents for use of the canal, to examine witnesses and examine documentary evidence and to adjust the damages, if any. 31 Mr 1836. R 11. Resolution relative to the claims of JOSEPH SMITH, PETER LIVERGOOD, GEORGE PATTON BOYER, JOHN GALLAUGHER, and GEORGE KEENER, ISAAC KLECKNER and JAMES M'GEE, for damages done by the construction of the Pa. Canal and Columbia Railroad. That the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to ascertain whether the ground occupied by the erection of water stations and wood houses on the land of Joseph Smith, was taken into accounty when adjustments were made, and if not, to settle and adjust the same. That the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to ascertain whether certain lots, the property of Peter Livergood, have been taken by the agents of the state, for the purpose of erecting buildings thereon, and whether the same were taken into account when the adjustment of his damage claim was made. That the appraisers of damages are hereby authorized to ascertain whether the washing away of the island of George Patton Boyer is caused by the existence of the Shamokin dam and report damages sustained, and the sum reported paid out. That the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to settle the claim of John Gallaugher and George Keener, late contractors on the French Creek division of the Pa. canal, for losses sustained in the erection of dam #4, across French Creek, upon examination appear just. That the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to settle the claims of Isaac Kleckner and James M'Gee, late contractors on the West Branch division of the Pa. canal, for losses sustained in the erection of a dam across the Bald Eagle creek, as may appear just. 1 Apr 1836.^ R 12. Resolution authorizing JOHN T.M. BEDELL and others to change their names, and for other purposes. That John T.M.Bedell is hereby authorized to change his name to GREGORY T. BEDELL. That THOMAS SHEEPSHANKS of the county Philadelphia, is hereby authorized to change his name to THOMAS S. SPENCER. That CAROLINE H. SHEEPSHANKS of the county of Philadelphia, is hereby authorized to change her name to CAROLINE H.S. SPENCER. 1 Apr 1836. R 13. Resolution to make payment. That the commissioners of the internal improvement fund are hereby directed to pay to the widow of THOMAS GREEN, dec. late a lock tender on the western division of the Pa. canal, the amount due her husband for tending lock #5, from the 4 Apr 1829 to 22 Aug 1829. 1 Apr 1836. R 15. Resolution relative to the claim of EDWARD INNMAN, JAMES THOMPSON and SAMUEL THOMPSON, and JOSEPH WRIGHT. That the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to ascertain whether certain land, the property of Edward Innman, of Luzerne county, has been taken by the agents of the state for the purpose of erecting buildings and whether the same was taken into account when the adjustment of his damage claim was made and to settle the same. That the appraisers of damage on the Pa. canal are hereby authorized to re-examine and assess damages, if any, sustained by James and Samuel Thompson of Juniata county, because of the construction of the Pa. canal, taking into consideration the advantages of the canal to the property, and the sum reported, paid out. That the appraisers of damages on the Pa. canal are hereby authorized to re-examine the damages, which have been sustained by Joseph Wright of Luzerne county, by reason of the construction of the Pa. canal, taking into consideration the advantages to the property, and report and sum shall be paid. 1 Apr 1836. R 16. Resolution relative to the claims of JOHN A. LLOYD, the heirs of JOHN LAWSON, dec., FRANKLIN STRATTON, JAMES P. WHITE, and WILLIAM GRAHAM, and JANE PARSONS. That the appraisers of damages on the Pa. canal are hereby authorized to re-examine the damage, if any, which has been sustained by John A. Lloyd of Northumberland county, by the construction of the Pa. Canal, taking into consideration the advantages of the canal to the property, and reported to be paid. That the appraisers of damages on the Pa. canal are hereby authorized to ascertain whether the washing away of the island of the heirs of John Lawson, dec. is caused by the erection of the Muncy dam in the river Susquehanna and if the said dam to be the cause to pay damages. That the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to settle the claim of Franklin Stratton, late a contractor on the French creek division of the Pa. canal, for losses sustained by a change of the location of the dam and guard lock on the French creek feeder of the Pa. canal as may appear equitable and just. That is shall be the duty of the Canal commissioners to ascertain the amount of damages sustained by James P. White and William Graham in consequence of the destruction of a passenger car, called "Home" in Aug. 1834 on plain number five, and if the loss was occasioned by negligence or inattention, and without any negligence on the part of the claimants, then to report the amount they are entitled to and the sum paid. Whereas, the Canal commissioners were directed to remeasure the work done by WILLIAM PARSONS on section 44, Juniata division of the Pa. canal, and settle the same with his widow, Jane Parsons. Their engineer reported he had gone to measure but it was impracticable to remeasure after the work was completed and did not make the attempt. Therefore, from the best evidence which can be laid before the board through witnesses shall be examined. 1 Apr 1836. R 17. Resolution to authorize the Canal Commissioners to liquidate the damages sustained by PRISCILLA CAHILL, and SAMUEL B. YOUNG, by reason of the destruction of their property by fire from locomotives, on the Philadelphia and Columbia railroad. That the Canal commissioners are hereby authorized to inquire into whether the loss sustained by Priscilla Cahill, and Samuel B. Young, in the burning their property near the Philadelphia and Columbia railroad, the former on 8 Apr last, and the latter 23 Apr last, were caused by fire from locomotive engine, ascertaining the loss and damages entitled to and to pay same. 10 Jun 1836. R 21. Resolution relative to the estate of JULIAN WEYLAND. That the Auditor General is hereby authorized to settle and adjust the costs which accrued in the case of the alleged escheat of the estate of Julian Weyland, late of Mifflin, (now Juniata county) and to draw warrants on the State Treasurer for the amount. Whereas, it appears that SOLOMON LUTER of the county of Westmoreland, procured a warrant 13 Nov 1835 for land which was improved in 1811, which improvements have been continue to the present time and for the said warrant he paid at the rate of ten pounds per hundred acres, whereas he ought to hav only paid at the rate of fifty shillings per hundrend acres.
