That John Young, Westmoreland county, Pa., is hereby authorized to change his name to John Young Forrester and to do all legal acts to all intents and purposes as if no change had been made. 25 Jan 1843. 4. An act to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from Butler to New Castle. CRAWFORD are hereby appointed commissioners. 27 Jan 1843. 8. An act to incorporate the Independent Mutual Fire Insurance company of Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. That JOHN S. VANSANT ESQ., FRANKLIN COMLY ESQ., THOMAS TOMLINSON, JOHN R. HALLOWELL, WILLIAM RANKIN, WATSON COMLY, WILLIAM B. COMLY, JONATHAN WILSON, WILLIAM LUKENS, WILLIAM L. PAXON, RICHARD HODGELAND, JAMES TOMLINSON and JOHN TOMLINSON (farmer), are hereby made a corporation, a body politic and corporate in law. 10 Feb 1843. 11. An act to change the name of LLOYD WHARTON, of the county of Philadelphia. That Lloyd Wharton, of the county of Philadelphia, is hereby authorized to change his name to LLOYD WHARTON BICKLEY, and shall be as capable in law, and his children shall bear the name of Bickley, as if there had been no change in name. 15 Feb 1843. 13. An act to confer on WILLIAM GEDDES, MARY JANE DUBBS and WILLIAM A. M'COOL, the benefits of children born in wedlock. That William Geddes, Mary Jane Dubbs and William A. M'Cool shall have all the rights of children born in wedlock, and William Geddes shall be entitled to all the real estate of RACHAEL RANK, late of Union county, Pa., died seized, the same vested in him. Mary Jane Dubbs and William A. M'Cool shall be entitled to have all the real and person estate of CATHARINE SCANDRETT, late of Walker Twp., Juniata county, died seized, and the same is vested in them, subject to the payment of debts of Catharine Scandrett, dec. 25 Feb 1843. 17. An act to incorporate the Goschenhoppen Mutual Fire Insurance company. That JOEL Y. SHELLY, CHARLES F. DICKENSHIELD, ANTHONY KRAUSE, WILLIAM SCHALL, PHILIP SUPER, ISAAC SCHULTZ, PETER HILLEGASS, JOSEPH MILLER, CHARLES HILLEGASS, LEWIS MARSTELLER, GEORGE GERY, ABRAHAM STAUFFER, JOHN GEMAN, SAMUEL S. YOUNG and JACOB HILLEGASS (miller), being citizens of Montgomery, Berks, Lehigh and Bucks counties, are hereby constituted to be one body politic and corporate. 3 Mar 1843. 18. An act to confirm certain deeds executed by WILLIAM STAMBAUGH and DAVID STAMBAUGH of Perry county. That the deed of William Stambaugh, and wife, to David Stambaugh, for a tract of land in Centre twp., Perry county, containing 165 acres and the deed of David Stambaugh and wife, to William Stambaugh for a tract of land in Tyrone twp., Perry county, containing 100 acres, both bearing the date 31 Dec 1842, shall be as valid as if there never had been any proceedings instituted in the court of common pleas, under the acts of assembly relative to habitual drunkards, in relation to William Stambaugh. 3 Mar 1843. 19. An act to incorporate the town of Milesburg, in the county of Centre, into a borough. The boundaries are: Bald Eagle and Spring creek to JAMES IRVIN & Co.'s land, thence south east to JOSEPH MILES' meadow, west to WILLIAM LEES' lot, to Catharine st. and the Baptist church lot and back to Bald Eagle. The first election , it shall be the duty of SAMUEL J. GREEN, JOHN T. HOOVER and ISSAC BUFFINGTON to perform all the duties enjoined upon constables, relative to elections. 3 Mar 1843. 20. An act to incorporate the Erie Canal Company. That CHARLES M. READ, WILLIAM KELLY and JOHN GALBRAITH of Erie, HUGH BRAWLEY, DAVID DICK, HORACE CULLUM, MARTIN MARTZALL, JOHN M'NAMARA, CHARLES RICH and MORROW B. LOWRY of Crawford, WILLIAM S. RANKIN, LORIN LUSK, JAMES M. POWER, JOHN REYNOLDS, SAMUEL KERR and SAMUEL GOODWIN of Mercer, JAMES PATTERSON, DANIEL AGNEW and JOSEPH POLLOCK of Beaver, HARMAR DENNY, WILLIAM HAYS and WILLIAM ROBINSON of Allegheny county, FREDERICK FRALEY, JOHN K. KANE and WILLIAM J. LEIPER of Philadelphia, WILLIAM BEATY and WILLIAM STEWART of Butler county are hereby appointed commissioners. 7 Mar 1843. 22. An act regulating election districts. That the qualified voters of the Pottstown election district, in the county of Montgomery, shall hold their elections at the Farmers Hotel, in the borugh of Pottstown, at present occupied by PETER FRITZ. That the township of Franklin, Erie county, shall hereafter be an election district, and the qualified voters shall hold their elections at the house of THADDEUS MILLS JR. The qualified voters of the township of Bern, Berks county, shall hold their elections at the house of JACOB D. BARNET, in the borough of Reading. That the qualified voters of the township of Madison, Clarion county, shall hold their elections at the house of JOSEPH FLICK. That the township of Durell, Bradford county, shall be an election district, and the qualified electors shall hold their elections at the house of SELDIN S. BRADLEY. That the qualified voters of the township of Jackson, Susquehanna county, shall hold their elections at the house of NATHANIEL HILL. That the part of the township of Schuylkill, Schuylkill county, beginning at Schuylkill and East Brunswick Twps. line, along the state road to northern line of Rush twp. shall be an election district, and the qualified voters shall hod their elections at the house of NATHAN BARLOW. That the township of Jefferson, Dauphin county shall be an election district and the qualified voters shall hold their elections at the house of GEORGE SHOOP. That the qualified electors of the township of Middle Smithfield, Monroe county, shall hold their elections at the Store House of ADAM MOSER. That the qualified electors of the township of Burnside, Clearfield county, shall hold their elections at the house of WIDOW OWENS. That a line commencing at the road leading from New Castle to Pulaski, in Mercer county, between DAVID SUMMERVILLE and JOHN GREER west to the river, and the qualified voters thus struck off Mahoning and attached to Neshannock, shall hold their elections at the house of FINDLEY M'CREARY, late DAVID SHAFFER's, in Neshannock twp. That the qualified electors of the township of Tredyffrin, Chester county, shall hold their elections at the Farmers' and Mechanics' Hotel, at present occupied by JOHN HENRY at Centreville. That the qualified electors of North Huntingdon Twp. Westmoreland county, shall hold their elections at the public house of WILLIAM F. IRWIN, at present occupied by VALENTINE ELLIOT, in the village of Jacksonville. That part of the townships of Norwegian and Branch, Schuylkill county, beginning at Broad Mountain Hotel, south west to Chapmansville, west to Mine Hill gap, west to Man an Williams' colleries, to G. MOORE's tavern house, on the Centre turnpike, east to the town of Waidsville, to the town of St. Clair, to the farm house of JAMES C. STEVENS, back to the hotel, shall be an election district, and the qualified voters shall hold their elections at the public house occupied by PETER KLINE, in the town of New Castle, Norwegian twp. That the qualified voters residing in the part of West Earle Twp. that has been annexed to Ephrata Twp. Lancaster county, shall hold their elections in the 27th election district, now held at the public house of JOHN GROSS, Ephrata Twp. That the qualified voters residing in the part of Sugar Creek Twp., Armstrong county, beginning at JAMES ARMSTRONG's farm on the Allegheny river, thence to SAMUEL MILLER's land, adjoining that of MATHEW BRINKS, shall be attached to Perry twp. and hold their elections at the house of WILLIAM BEATTY, in Perry twp. That so much of the law as attaches that part of Exeter twp., Luzerne county, on the east side of the Susquehanna to Falls, for elective purposes, is repealed, and the qualified voters shall hold their elections at the house of JAMES VANSICKLE on Bald Mountain. That the qualified voters residing in Union twp., Huntingdon county, shall hold their elections at the school house near EZEKIEL CORBINS. That the qualified voters residing in Homer Twp., Potter county, shall hold their elections at the house of JOHN SNOW. That the elections, in the township of Union, Luzerne county, shall be held at the house now occupied by WILLIAM SEARCH II. That the township of East Strasburg, Lancaster county, shall form an election district, and the qualified voters shall hold their elections at the public house now occupied by JAMES H. SLAYMAKER, in Williamstown, That the qualified voters residing in Half Moon twp., Centre county, shall hold their elections at the school house, near WILLIAM SPENSER's. That the qualified voters of Alleppo twp., Greene county, shall hold their elections at the Windy Gap school house, near CALEB KIMBLE's. That the qualified electors of Franklin twp., Lycoming county, shall hold their general elections at the house of BENJAMIN C. MORRIS. The qualified electors of Shrewsbury twp., Lycoming county, shall hold their elections at the house of RICHARD TAYLOR. That the elections in the township of Tell, Huntingdon county, shall be at the house now occupied by the heirs of JAMES M'NEAL. That the qualified voters of Chillisquaque twp., Northumberland county, shall hold their elections at the house of BENJAMIN FORESMAN. That the qualified voters of Hanover twp., Luzerne county, shall hold their elections at the house of BATEMAN DOWNING, on the Middle Road. That the qualified voters of Sergeant twp., M'Kean county, shall hold their elections at the house of AMOS BURROWES, in Williamsville. That the township of La Fayette, M'Kean county, shall form a separate election district and the qualified voters shall hold their elections at the School House, near the public house of J. BRUSH. That the township of Centre, Berks county, shall form a separate election district, and the qualified voters shall hold their elections at the public house of ELIZABETH KAUFFMAN. That the township of BEALE, Juniata county, shall form a separate election district, and the qualified voters shall hold their elections at the Union School House, near JACOB BUSHEY's. That the qualified voters of West Nantmeal twp., Chester county, shall hold their elections at the public house now occupied by RUDOLPH HUZZARD. That the qualified voter of the township of Heidelberg, Berks county, shall hold their elections at the public house now occupied by JOHN EIRICH. That the qualified voters of Mercersburg election district, Franklin county, shall hold their elections at the house now occupied by CHRISTIAN FOLTZ, in the borough of Mercersburg. That the qualified electors of Pike twp., Berks county, shall hold thier elections at the public house now occupied by JACOB GABLE. That the qualified electors of the township of Albany, Bradford county, shall hold their elections at the school house, in the North district, near the house of WELLS WILCOX. 7 Mar 1843. 23. An act authorizing the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster county, to confirm the sale of certain real estate of FREDERICK NAUMAN, an habitual drunkard. Whereas, DAVID BRUBAKER, trustee of Frederick Nauman, an habitual drunkard, residing in Lancaster county, did, with the advice and consent of Frederick Nauman, sell a certain tract of land belonging to his estate situate in Ralpho Twp., Lancaster county, containing 65 acres, to MARTIN BRUBAKER, and said sale is benefical to the interests of all persons concerned in the estate, therefore, the court of common pleas of Lancaster county is hereby authorized to confirm the sale. 7 Mar 1843. 26. An act to authorize the Overseers of the Poor of the city of Pittsburg to sell certain real estate and for other purposes. Whereas, by deed, bearing date 8 Jan 1821, JAMES ROSS, HARMAR DENNY, DENNIS SCULLY and JAMES R. BUTLER, executors of JAMES O'HARA, dec. formerly of Allegheny county, conveyed to THOMAS COOPER and JAMES COOPER, overseers of the poor of the city of Pittsburg, out-lot #256 in the reserved tract opposite Pittsburg, containing 10 acres of ground, which is desirable to dispose of and invest the proceeds in the purchase of a more extensive tract of land, for the maintence and support of the poor, therefore, THOMAS PERKINS and WILLIAM ALEXANDER, the overseers of the poor of the city of Pittsburg, are hereby authorized to sell the ten acres #256, and to convey the same to the purchaser. That THOMAS CRISWELL, of the county of Allegheny, is hereby authorized to recover and sell, or to compromise and to convey and release all right, title and claims of SARAH PAYNE, now in the poor house of said county, in any lands in which she may have claim situate in this commonwealth, proceeds for the use of Sarah Payne and her heirs. 9 Mar 1843. 28. An act to authorize certain trustees to sell and to convey certain real estate. That FRANCIS M'BRIDE, of Butler county, trustee of JOHN DUFFY, is hereby authorized to sell and convey a tract or piece of land, situate in said county, and heretofore held in trust for the use of John Duffy, the sale of which shall be good and valid. That JACOB HENSHU, JAMES SCOTT, G.A. KIRKPATRICK and ANDREW STOUGHTON, trustees of the German Reformed, The Presbyterian, the Baptist and the Methodist Episcopal church, near the village of Prospect, Butler county, are hereby authorized to release and convey unto WILLIAM FORESTER, LEWIS ROTH, JOHN DODDS, (of William) THOMAS SULLIVAN, GEORGE P. ROBESON and JAMES ANDERSON, 35 feet off the south end of a larger lot of ground conveyed to the first mentioned trustees by JOHN JONES, by deed dated 14 Apr 1837 and situate in the village of Prospect, for the use of the citizens of the village and the township of Franklin, for the purpose of erecting a Town Hall and other buildings. 9 Mar 1843. 29. An act to incorporate the Line Lexington Mutual Fire Insurance company of Bucks and Montgomery counties. That GEORGE SCHWENK, LEIDY WORMAN, SAMUEL CRESSMAN, HENRY ECKLE, JOHN LEIDY, JOHN KLINE, HENRY BRUNER, ELI RUSH, GARRET C. WACK, PETER D. BLOOM, HENRY TROXEL, THOMAS JACOBY, JOHN FLUCK, are created and constituted a body corporate, for twenty years and no longer. 9 Mar 1843. 30. An act to incorporate the Cumberland Valley Mutual Protection company of Dickinson twp., Cumberland county. That THOMAS CRAIG MILLER, CHARLES P. CUMMINS, JOHN MOORE of Dickinson twp., DAVID W. M'CULLOCH, JAMES WEAKLEY, GEORGE MARTIN, WILLIAM MOORE, SAMUEL GALBRAETH, JAMES GREASON, THOMAS PAXTON, WILLIAM BARR, JOSEPH CULVER and ANDREW G. MILLER, are hereby constituted and declared to be a body politic and corporate for twenty years and no longer. 9 Mar 1843. 31. A supplement to incorporation of the Cherry Ridge and East Sterling Turnpike Road company, passed 7 May 1841. That WILLIAM R. MCLAWRY, RICHARD LANCASTER, LUCIUS COLLINS, REUBEN R. PRUDY and WILLIAM BORTEE of Wayne county, commissioners appointed by the act be authorized to re-open books for the subscription of stock. The said road will terminate at or near Salem Corners, Wayne County. 9 Mar 1843. 39. An act to repeal the Nicholson Court of Pleas, and to release the lien of the Commonwealth on the estate of JOHN NICHOLSON, dec. That the act to settle the estates of John Nicholson and PETER BAYNTON, passed 16 Apr 1840 is hereby repealed. That the alleged lien of the commonwealth on all the lands belonging to the estate of John Nicholson, dec. are hereby released and discharged, as fully to all intents and purposes as if they had never existed. 11 Mar 1843 40. An act authorizing F.B. HUBBARD, a justice of the peace, to take testimony and perpetuate evidence of certain records of his office. The dockets of FRANKLIN B. HUBBARD, of Mercer, Mercer county, have been stolen, and all the records and proceedings therein lost. For remedy thereof, he shall procure a docket in which he shall enter all judgements and proceedings which were contained in the docket. 13 Mar 1843. 41. An act erecting parts of Northampton and Monroe counties, into a separate county, to be called Carbon. JOHN D. BOWMAN, THOMAS WEISS, JOHN FATZINGER, ABRAM SHORTZ and SAMUEL WOLF are appointed trustees, whose duty shall be to receive written offers of donations in real estate and money, towards defraying the expenses of the lands and public buildings for the use of the county of Carbon. 13 Mar 1843. 42. An act to incorporate the Dauphin County Mutual Insurance company. That JACOB M. HALDEMAN, BENJAMIN PARKE, JOHN FOX, JOHN C. BUGHER, SAMUEL HOLMAN, JOSEPH W. CAKE, J.J.C. CANTINE, SIMON CAMERON, GEN. WILLIAM CLARK, HENRY BUEHLER, JOHN P. LEEBRICK, HENRY M. BAYARD, SOLOMON SHINDLE, MICHAEL WHITLEY, JACOB SEAL, CHRISTIAN EBERMAN are hereby constituted and declared to be a body politic and corporate. 16 Mar 1843. 44. An act to incorporate the Washington Mutual Insurance company. That there shall be established in the city of Philadelphia, an insurance company for marine, inland navigation and transportation, and fire risks. JOHN MASON, JOHN C. DA COSTA, JOSEPH CABOT, CHARLES RUGAN, ISAAC LLOYD JUN., S.M. WALN, WILLIAM S. NEILSON, LEONARD KIMBALL, JOHN DALLETT and CHARLES S. RICHEY of the city of Philadelphia, merchants, are hereby appointed commissioners. 16 Mar 1843. 45. An act to authorize the trustees of CHARLES A. KELLER and ELIZABETH KELLER his wife, to sell and convey certain real estate. That JOHN JACOBY, trustee of Charles A. Keller and Elizabeth his wife, is hereby authorized to sell and convey, and make and deliver a good and sufficient title for a lot of land situated in Lower Mount Bethel twp. in the county of Northampton, adjoining lands of JOHN M'FALL, JAMES C. MAJOR and THOMAS HUTCHINSON, containing 5 acres and 13 perches. That FREDERICK SCHWEITZER, trustee of Charles A. Keller and Elizabeth, his wife, is hereby authorized to sell and convey, execute and deliver a good title for a lot adjoining lands ABRAHAM MICKLE, Thomas Hutchinson, and others, containing 2 acres and 13 perches. 17 Mar 1843. 46. A supplement to legalize certain proceedings in the court of common pleas of Adams county. That the warrants issued by the commissioners of Northumberland county, to SAMUEL AWL, since dec. for the collection of taxes assessed in the township of Augusta, for 1839 and 1840, shall be good and effectual, for 2 years to authorize the HONORABLE GEORGE C. WELKER and GIDEON LEISENRING, to levy and collect the taxes remaining due and unpaid. 17 Mar 1843. 48. An act to incorporate the Mutual Fire Insurance company of Pottstown. That JOHN THOMPSON, GEORGE RICHARDS, HENRY POTTS, JONAS SMITH and WILLIAM MINTZER of Montgomery county, JAMES WELLS, SAMUEL WILLIAMS, OWEN STOVER, SAMUEL SHAFFER and WILLIAM PRICE of Chester county, and HENRY ARMS and CHRISTIAN SHANER of Berks county, are hereby made a corporation, for no longer then 20 years. 17 Mar 1843. 52. An act to incorporate the Farmers' and Mechanics' Mutual Insurance association of Bucks county. That WILLIAM KITCHEN, ROBERT SMITH, ISAAC C. KIRK, JAMES M. M'NAIR, ELY FELL, SAMUEL BEANS, BENJAMIN S. RICH, are hereby created and constituted a body corporate, for no longer then 20 years. 24 Mar 1843. 53. An act to incorporate the Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Society of Warminster, in Bucks county. That SAMUEL SHOEMAKER, DANIEL LONGSTRETH, JACOB FRETZ, JOSEPH HART, SETH TYSON, JOSEPH CARR, ISAAC TWINING, JOHN LLOYD, JAMES HORNER, SETH DAVIS and SILAS TWINING, are hereby created and constituted a body corporate in law, for no longer then 20 years. 24 Mar 1843. 54. An act to change the name of SAMUEL HANNUMS to SAMUEL JACKSON, and to confer upon his all the rights and privileges of a child born in lawful wedlock. That the name of Samuel Hannums, son of HAYES JACKSON and SARAH HANNUMS, of the county of Chester, is hereby changed to Samuel Jackson, and he shall enjoy all the rights and advantages of a child born in lawful wedlock as fully as if he had been born in lawful wedlock. 24 Mar 1843. 57. An act to divide the State into Congressional districts. The judges of the seventeenth district shall meet at the house of ALEXANDER M'COY, at Potter's Fort, in Centre County. The judges of the nineteenth district shall meet at the house of SAMUEL RENSHAW, in the borough of Johnstown, in Cambria county. The judges of the twentieth district shall meet at the house of JAMES BRICELAND, in Washington county. The judges of the twenty-second district shall meet at the house of WILLIAM DUNN, in Georgetown, Mercer county. The judges of the twenty-fourth district shall meet at the house of JOHN RYMER, in Rymersburg, in Clarion county. 25 Mar 1843. 65. An act to incorporate the Allen and East Pennsboro' Mutual Fire Insurance company of Cumberland County. That JACOB SHELLY, LEWIS HYER, LEVI MERKLE, JACOB RUPP, JOHN C. DUNLAP, BENJAMIN H. MUSSER, GEORGE CHRIST, ROBERT BRYSON, CHRISTIAN TITZEL, MICHAEL COCHLIN, JOHN SHERBURN, PETER BERNHART and MICHAEL HOOVER are hereby constituted and declared to be a body politic and corporate, for a term of no more then 20 twenty years. 3 Apr 1843. 67. An act to confer upon the Orphans' Court of Lancaster county certain powers in relation to the real estate of JOHN LINDEMUTH dec. and for other purposes. That the Orphans' Court of Lancaster, upon an application made, directed by a section of an act, 29 Mar 1832, to divide the plantation of John Lindemuth, late of East Donegal twp. dec. Seven men to value property at no less then $69.00 per acre. That CHARLES OLIVER LOGAN, WILLIAM LOGAN and ARCHIBALD RANDALL, executors and trustees named in the last will and testament of William Logan, late of the city of Philadelphia, dec. are hereby authorized to sell certain yearly rent charge of forty-two dollars and seventy-five cents, issuing out of a lot of ground situate on the south side of Lombard st. (being the same rent charge which GEORGE REES, high sheriff of the city and county of Philadelphia, by deed poll acknowledged in the supreme court for the eastern district of Pennsylvania on the 21 Jan 1832, granted and conveyed to William Logan) and to make a good and sufficient deed or conveyance to the purchaser. The whole of the purchase money to be used for the improvement and repair of the estate of William Logan. 4 Apr 1843. 69. An act to incorporate the York County Mutual Insurance company. That MICHAEL EBERT, PETER PETERS, MICHAEL SMYSER SEN., GEORGE LOUCKS, (of Jacob) MICHAEL DOUDEL, JOSEPH SMYSER, DAVID SMYSER, HENRY EBERT JR., DANIEL LOUCKS, HENRY SMYSER, (of Peter) DAVID BEELER, JOHN G. CAMPBELL, GEORGE LOUCHKS, (Miller) are hereby constituted and declared to be a body politic and corporate for a term of no longer then 20 years. 4 Apr 1843. 70. An act authorizing the Canal Commissioners to settle the damages alleged by JOHN EVANS. That the canal commissioners are hereby authorized to examine the damage sustained by John Evans, of Columbia, Lancaster county, by reason of the construction of the Pa. railroad avoiding the inclined plane there, and to settle on just and equitable terms. 4 Apr 1843. 72. An act to authorize the sale and conveyance of certain real estate, and for other purposes. That PHILIP VONEIDA, MICHAEL DIFFENDERFER, JESSE PENNEBECKER and DAVID MARKLEY, trustees of the four United Congregations of Presbyterian or Reformed churches in Lancaster county, are hereby authorized to sell and convey by deed in a tract of land situated in Ephrata township, Lancaster county, containing 98 1/2 acres, bounded by lands of JOHN GROSS, JOSEPH KONIGMACHER, RICHARD R. HEITLER, JONAS NOLT, DAVID MARKLEY and others, being the remainder of a tract of land containing 128 acres, sold and conveyed by JOHN BALMER and wife, deeded 11 Dec 1779, to ADAM GILL, PETER FANGHAUSER and others, elders and trustees of the congregations, in the townships of Cocalico, Earl and Warwick, as a glebe for the minister. The said trustees are hereby authorized to convey the tract and grant to the purchaser a deed for the same. That PETER GRAYBILL, surviving executor of the last will and testament of JOHN SCOTT, late of Donegal twp., Lancaster county, dec. is hereby authorized to pay to the treasurers of the twps. of East Donegal and Conoy, the proceeds of the estate of John Scott, which may remain after paying the debts of the dec., and the bequests mentioned, who shall invest the same in bonds secured by real estate, in trust for the support of the schools. The trustees of Franklin college, in the borough and county of Lancaster, did on 10 Feb 1843, convey by deed to S.S. HINMAN, WILLIAM SANTEE, JUDSON BLACKMAN, FREDERICK FISHER, DANIEL DECKER, HOLSEY TAYLOR, ABIGAIL SWARTOUT, WILLIAM GRAGG, JOHN LANTZ, PETER HOLLENBACK, RUEL R. BROWN, WILLIAM B. FRENCH, and BENJAMIN DAVISON, several tracts of land in Bradford county. The deeds to the above named shall be as good and valid as if the corporation had been called by its right name. That ELI SUMMERS, PAUL DOWLING, and WILLIAM W. DUNN are hereby appointed in the room of JOSEPH THOMAS, HENRY KERR and LEVI ROBERTS, to preform the duties mentioned in the act passed 13 Jun 1840. Whereas, WILLIAM HAMILTON, late of the twp. of Blockley, in the county of Philadelphia, dec. by deed of indenture dated 10 Mar 1808, granted and conveyed to DANIEL SMITH, ANDREW PETIT and JAMES TRAQUAIR, (who are all deceased), two certain lots of ground, marked in the plan of Hamilton village, #30 and 32, in trust for the sole use of building and erecting an academy of learning for the instruction of youth and if they neglect to erect such building within twenty years, then the grant is void and the lots revert to WILLIAM HAMILTON. In erecting the academy the trustees had to incur debts which they were unable to pay, in consequence the premises were sold under a writ of venditioni exponas for the city of Philadelphia, tested 10 Jun 1826 at the suit of NATHAN JONES and became the purchaser for the sum of $600.00, and the premises were granted and conveyed by JOHN DOUGLASS then high sheriff on 27 Sep 1826. Afterwards on 14 Jul 1837 the heirs of Nathan Jones conved the premises to THOMAS DAVIS, JOHN DALE and JAMES COXIE, in trust for the use of The Baptist church in Blockley Twp. for the purpose of an academy of learning as aforesaid. The members of the Baptist church are desirous of erecting a building for a church thereon. The present trustees are hereby authorized to erect a building for a church. The title to a piece of land situate in Rostrava Twp., Westmoreland county, conveyed to ISAAC CALL by deed dated 10 May 1827, recorded in book #18, pg. 198, containing 15 acres, is hereby invested in NANCY CALL, the widow of Isaac Call, dec. as fully as if he had dispose of the same as if he was now living. 4 Apr 1843. 73. An act to incorporate the town of Perrysville, in the county of Juniata, into a borough. That the town of Perrysville, Juniata county, bounded, beginning at the confluence of the Tuscarora creek and the Juniata river, along a line between BENJAMIN KEPNER and W.W. WILSON north, and back to beginning. That the election to be held, shall be the duty of J.W. RICE, SAMUEL M'FADDEN and GEORGE M'CULLOCH to preform all the duties of constables relative to elections. 4 Apr 1843. 74. An act to incorporate the Bedford and Cumberland Turnpike Road company. For the purpose of making a turnpike road, beginning at the borough of Bedford, Bedford county, through Cumberland Valley to the Maryland State line, in the direction towards Cumberland, HUMPHRY DILLON, DANIEL SHUCK, JAMES REA, DAVID PATTERSON, JOHN R. DONALDSON, JOHN TAYLOR, GEORGE LANDELL, ISAAC BOILEAU, GEORGE W. VAUGHAN and WILLIAM O. KLINE of the Kensington district, Philadelphia county, are hereby appointed commissioners, for the distribution of carbonated hydrogen gas, for the purpose of public or private illumination. 4 Apr 1843. 76. An act authorizing the laying out of state roads and for other purposes. That THOMAS ARMSTRONG of Elderton, PETER DELTS of Mahoning, Indiana county and WILLIAM CAMPBELL, Jefferson county, are hereby appointed commissioners to view and lay out a road from Elderton in Armstrong county, to Panaxatauney, Jefferson county, by way of Plumville, Indiana county. That JOHN SHEAKLEY and ALEXANDER M'CLEARY, of Mercer county, and PETER MURRIN of Butler county, are hereby appointed commissioners to view and locate a state road from Georgetown in Mercer county, to PETER HILLIARDS in Butler county. That MARK GORDON, JACOB BARNS and HENRY NEAL, of the county of Greene, are hereby appointed commissioners to view the and lay out a road, beginning at the west end of the bridge at Rodger's mill, thence to the Grave Creek state road, near the house of WILLIAM S. YOST of Montgomery county are hereby appointed commissioners to review the state road laid out between Allentown, Lehigh county, and West Chester, Chester county, between Allentown and Pottstown, Montgomery county, and relocate the same. 5 Apr 1843. 77. An act concerning a trail for murder in Cambria county. That the court of oyer and terminer of Cambria county, are hereby authorized to enter, if requested by the defendants in the case of the Commonwealth against BERNARD FLANAGAN and PATRICK FLANAGAN, indicted for the murder of ELIZABETH HOLDEN, a rule to show cause why the sentence of the court and the verdict of the jury should not be set aside, a new trial granted, and if granted the case shall proceed as soon as practicable, with a new judge. The provisions of this act shall not be construed into an expression of guilt or innocence of the defendant. 5 Apr 1843. 80. An act to incorporate the Frankford Mutual Insurance company of the the county of Philadelphia. An act to confer on WILLIAM JOHN AYRES the benefits of a child born in lawful wedlock. That William John Ayres, son of WILLIAM AYRES ESQ., of Butler county, is hereby declared to be legitimate, and entitled to all the benefits of a child born in lawful wedlock, as if he had been a child born in lawful wedlock. 5 Apr 1843. 82. An act to confer on HARRIET JUSTICE and ELIZA JUSTICE, minor children of JOHN JUSTICE and VERRATA JUSTICE, the rights and benefits of children born in lawful wedlock, and for other purposes. That Harriet and Eliza Justice, minor children of John Justice and VERRATA MILLIGAN, now Vertata Justice of the county of Beaver, shall enjoy all the rights and benefits of children born in lawful wedlock, as fully as if they had been born in lawful wedlock. That JAMES KELLY, son of ELIZABETH SNODGRASS, late of Lewisburg, Union county, dec. shall have and enjoy all the rights and benefits of a child born in wedlock, and capable to inherit all of the estate of his mother, as if he had been born in lawful wedlock. That NANCY WHITTAKER, daughter of ELIZABETH RHOADS, now the wife of REUBEN WHITTAKER of Huntingdon county, shall have all the rights and benefits of a child born in lawful wedlock, as if she had been born in lawful wedlock. 6 Apr 1843. 86. An act to authorize the sale and conveyance of certain real estate and for other purposes. That JOHN HILL and JOHN T. M'GOWEN, guardians of CHARLES MILLER, ELIZABETH MILLER, HARRIET MILLER and HENRIETTA MILLER, minor children of JOHNSON MILLER, dec. late of Ligonier twp., Westmoreland county, are hereby authorized to sell and convey all the rights and title which Johnson Miller possessed at the time of his decease, in a lot of ground, and appurtenances, containing 12 acres, situate in the town of Greenville, Clarion county, and to place the proceeds of the sale at interest, or to make investments. That BAKER WILER, administrator de bonis non, with the will annexed of CONRAD WILER, is hereby authorized to exercise all the powers, to sell and convey real estate contained in the last will and testament in the county of Philadelphia. The act passed 2 Aug 1842 authorizing JAMES DUNCAN and JOHN MORRISON of Fawn twp., York county, to convey real estate is repealed. 6 Apr 1843. 87. An act concerning transfer of stocks. That EVANS ROGERS of the city of Philadelphia, JAMES CLARKE of the county of Indiana, and the state treasurer, are hereby appointed commissioners to sell, transfer and convey any or all of the bank, turnpike, bridge, canal, railroad or navigation stocks in any incorporated company owned by the commonwealth of Pa., proceeds to be placed in the state treasury. 8 Apr 1843. 89. An act for the relief of THOMAZIN GRAY. That the state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay to Thomazin Gray of Chester county, an annuity of forty dollars, to be paid half yearly, commencing on the 1 Jan 1843, and to continue for 5 years, as a full compenstation for all injuries sustained by her on the Philadelphia and Columbia railroad. 8 Apr 1843. 92. An act for the relief of CHARLES FISHER and CHRISTIAN FISHER. That the canal commissioners are hereby authorized and required, to view and assess the damages sustained by Charles and Christian Fisher, by the construction of the Pa. canal through their land, situated on the Isle of Que, in the county of Union, and if found due them, they shall be entitled to a credit for the amount. 8 Apr 1843. 93. An act authorizing WILLIAM L. ROBB to sell certain real estate. Whereas, by indenture, dated 16 Sep 1820, JONES POTTS and HANNAH POTTS his wife, of the township of Hanover, Washington county, Pa., conveyed a lot ground situate on the waters of King's creed, being part of a tract called "Hope", containing 1 1/2 acres and 16 perches, to THOMAS COOL, ELSE COOL, JOY COOL, and LEONARD COOL, to wit: To Thomas Cool 1/3 part, to Else 1/3 part, and to Leonard and Joy Cool, the remaining 1/3 part, held in common. Whereas, Leonard Cool has died, leaving no issue or will, William L. Robb is hereby authorized to sell the lot of ground and make a good deed to the purchaser, and divide the money between the remaining owners. 8 Apr 1843. 94. A supplement to an act to make a turnpike road from the Abington and Waterford turnpike, near the bridge of Tunkhannock creek, to Carbondale, passed 25 Jan 1831. An act to erect Newton Hamilton, in the county of Mifflin, into a borough. The borough of Newton, Hamilton, Mifflin county, is bounded, beginning at land of SAMUEL DRAKE's, thence north west to lands of JACOB SHAVERS, south west to GEORGE VANSANT's land, thence north to beginning. Samuel Drake and JACOB NORTON shall superintend the first election. 12 Apr 1843. 98. An act to confer upon WILLIAM HUSTON the right to keep in repair and to use a certain well of water in the village of West Fairfield. That the right to repair and use a well of water situate on one of the streets in the village of West Fairfield, and county of Westmoreland, sunk and occupied by William Huston, is hereby vested in William Huston, provided that all the inhabitants of the village shall have the privilege of using the well. 12 Apr 1843. 99. An act awarding to JOHN D. MILES, Judge Advocate of a Court Martial, lately held in the county of Philadelphia, certain compensation, and for other purposes. Whereas, John D. Miles acted in the capacity of judge advocate of a court martial assembled in the county of Philadelphia for the trial of MAJOR RUDOLPH H. BARTLE, brigade inspector of the second brigade, first division, Pa. militia. The State treasurer is hereby authorized to pay John D. Miles $150.00 for his services. The state treasurer is hereby authorized to pay J.W. EVANS, judge advocate of the court martial appointed for the trial of CAPTAIN A. EDDY, and LIEUTENANTS HENRY S. HITNER and CHARLES FREAS, convened on 16 Jan 1843, $82.75 for his services. 12 Apr 1843. 102. An act to incorporate the Mutual Fire Insurance company of Sinking Springs, of Berks county. That SAMUEL ADDAMS, WILLIAM SPAHN, WILLIAM PALM, THOMAS H. JONES, BENJAMIN HAIN, son of JOSEPH HAIN, MICHAEL SELSER, NICHOLAS YOCUM, JOHN GERNANT, (Maiden Creek) CHARLES VAN REED, ADAM LEIS, JOHN POTTEIGER, JOSEPH SMUCKER and AARON MULL are hereby made a coporation for no longer then 20 years. 12 Apr 1843. 103. An act authorizing the conveyance of certain real estate. CHARLES WETHERILL, late of the county of Philadelphia, dec. died intestate, there being vested to him real estate, which decended to him as one of the heirs of his father, SAMUEL WETHERILL, dec. which Samuel had sold in his lifetime, but had not conveyed title to the purchasers. It shall be lawful for the administrator of Charles Wetherill, dec. to make and execute deeds. That DOCTOR WILLIAM G. KNOWLES, of the township of Darby, Delaware county, trustee of the separate estate of ELIZA BOWMAN, wife of THOMAS BOWMAN, of the city of Philadelphia, is hereby authorized with the approbation of Eliza Bowman to sell and convey any part of the separate estate of Eliza, conveyed by her husband to Doctor William G. Knowles, by deed dated 26 Apr 1837 and to give a good and valid deed free from the trusts of the deed. That JACOB KOONS and JANE KOONS his wife, are hereby authorized to sell and convey a tract of land situate in Green twp., Franklin county, containing 8 acres, devised by ELIZABETH GREEN, dec. and money from the sale invested in other real estate. That the administrators of CHRISTIAN LEY, late of Myerstown, Lebanon county, dec. are hereby authorized to grant and convey, and to unite with WILLIAM HOCH, in granting and conveying to the administrator of DANIEL DRINKLE, late of Reading, Berks county, dec. in trust for the persons legally entitled to the same, one undivided sixth part of all the lands and tenements not heretofore sold, situate in the counties of Schuylkill an Dauphin, mentioned in a certain article of agreement between Chrisian Ley and William Hoch, Daniel Drinkle and DANIEL D.B. KEIM, dated 11 Sep 1830, recorded in Schuylkill county, on 15 Sep 1830, and also to grant and convey and unite with William Hoch in granting and conveying to the administrators of Daniel D.B. Keim, dec. in trust one undivided sixth part of the the lands and tenements and to deliver deeds for the same. That the deed from MARY C. WILSON, guardian of STEWART WILSON, an idiot, to MARTHA WILSON, dated 25 Sep 1840, shall be valid to convey the title of Stewart Wilson, and confer title to the purchaser. That BENJAMIN BROWN, DAVID BLIGH and J.G. GRIER committe of the Harmonsburg sub-school district, in Crawford county, acting as trustees for a lot belonging to the village of Harmonsburg, for the use of the school, are hereby authorized to execute a contract heretofore made with N.J. UPHAM, for the exchange of a portion of the lot for other land, and to make a deed for the exchange. That GEORGE YARDLY, AMOS VANSANT and WILLIAM D. BROWN, are hereby constituted trustees in the room and stead of those named by THOMAS YARDLEY ESQ., of Lower Makefield Twp., in his deed dated 25 Feb 1793, are authorized to sell and convey property conveyed by the deed and invest the proceeds in the purchase of ground for the erection of a building for the use and purposes of a free school for the education of the youth of that neighborhood forever in Bucks county. That the deacons of the New Britain Baptist church, Bucks county, are hereby authorized to make and execute a deed of release to AMOS GRIFFITHS, for the sum of two dollars, charged on the lands of Amos Griffiths by the deed of DAVID JONES, 1767, to be annually paid to the church. That the school directors of the township of Darby, Delaware county, are hereby authorized to sell and convey and make and execute a good title for a lot situated on Springfield Road, which by indenture, dated 2 Apr 1734, granted and conveyed by DAVID THOMAS and HANNAH THOMAS his wife, to JOHN DAVIS and RICHARD PARKER for school purposes, and to apply the proceeds of the sale to the support of the common schools. That THOMAS PRITCHETT of the city of Philadelphia, trustee of ABRAHAM K. PRITCHETT, JOSEPHINE TIMLOW, late JOSEPHINE PRITCHETT and ANNA E. HOLSTEIN, late ANNA E. PRITCHETT, are hereby authorized to pay over to Anne E. Holstein and Josephine Timlow, two-thirds parts of all moneys received from rents arising out of a certain trust created by the last will and testament of Anna E. Pritchett, late of Philadelphia, dec. directed to be laid out in improving real estate devised by the testatrix, in trust for the use of Abraham K. Pritchett, Anna E. and Josphine for life. That on the refusal of the trustee to pay the same, Anna E. and Josephine may sue for the same. That ISAAC JOHN of Columbia county, PETER SHRONTZ and ABRAHAM CAMPBELL of Northumberland county, (surviving acting trustees under a deed from HENRY METTLER and ELIZABETH METTLER, his wife, dated 23 Jun 1820), are hereby authorized to sell a lot of ground in Rush Twp., Northumberland county, containing 1 1/2 acres of land, recorded in deed book U, pg. 414, 415, 416, and to make to the purchaser a deed conveying all the right vested in the trustees, with the consent of a majority of the members. 12 Apr 1843. 106. An act authorizing the laying out and locating a state road from the borough of Elizabethtown, Allegheny county, to the borough of Brownsville, in Fayette county, and for other purposes. That ROBERT PATTERSON, of Fayette county, JOHN POWER, of Westmoreland county, and JONATHAN LARGE of Allegheny county, are hereby appointed commissioners to view, lay out, and mark a state road, beginning at Elizabethtown in Allegheny county, thence by way of Webster, in Westmoreland county, Bellvernon, Cookstown, to Brownsville, in Fayette county. That WILLIAM GIBBS and DAVID DALRYMPLE, shall keep the landings and ferry in good condition and repair, fit for transportation and passage of travellers, teams and carriages of all descriptions, and shall keep good and substantial boats, and other crafts, and competent and careful ferry-men, with all diligence and care, and shall receive such tolls for conveying the same in Warren county. That SAMUEL NEWEL and ALLEN WILSON of the county of Clarion, and ALEXANDER HOLEMAN of Venango county, are hereby appointed commissioners to view and locate a state road from Waterson's ferry in Clarion county, to Holeman's ferry, in Venango county. 13 Apr 1843. 108. An act to authorize the sale of certain real estate. That it shall be lawful for CAROLINE A. ATHERTON, one of the heirs of WILLIAM ROSS, late of Luzerne county, dec. to sell and convey any portions of the real estate bequeathed to her by the will of her late father to the purchaser. With the approval of the Orphans' court to execute a deed to the purchaser, it may order the money from the sale secure the rights of the children of Caroline A. Atherton after her death. That ISRAEL TREXLER, WILLIAM SAEGER, and ABRAHAM STINEBERGER, trustees of the school district, known as Frye's district, shall have full power to sell the school house known as Frye's school house, together with the lot attached, in the township of Hanover, Lehigh county, and transferring the title to the purchaser, and to invest the money for the use and benefit of the school district. 13 Apr 1843. 109. An act to incorporate a company for making an artificial road from Brownington to the city of Allegheny, and for other purposes. An act to annul the marriage contract between SAMUEL SELBY and ELIZABETH SELBY, his wife. Whereas, Samuel Selby and Elizabeth Orry were legally married in the city of Philadelphia, on 11 Apr 1841, at which time Elizabeth was enciente of a child, of which her husband is not the father, therefore, the marriage contract entered into by them is hereby declared null an void, and the parties discharged from all obligations of the same, as fully as if they had never been joined in marriage. WELLS, late overseers of the poor, the respective sums due them for accounts made and money expended for the support of the poor, whilst overseers thereof, beyond the taxes laid and collected by them for that purpose. That the deed made 9 May 1839, and on the same day acknowledged in open court, by JOHN BENNET ESQ., Sheriff of Lycoming county, to GEORGE OYSTER, for a tract of land situate in Muncy creek and Turbut townships, in the counties of Northumberland and Lycoming, containing 408 acres, and sold as the property of SOLOMON MANGUS, is hereby declared good and valid. That WILLIAM W. DOWNING, BEYNARD WAY and JOSEPH C. STRODE of Chester county, are hereby appointed commissioners to view, lay out and mark a state road from Downingtown, by way of Parkersville, to the state line where Wilmington and Kennett turnpike road terminates. 24 Apr 1843. 174. An act to authorize ELIZABETH S. SWIFT to make title to certain real estate, and for other purposes. That Elizabeth S. Swift of the borough of Easton, Northampton county, Pa. is hereby authorized to sell and convey and make title to certain real estate in Germantown, Philadelphia county, on the north east side of main street, by land of THOMAS NORRIS, JAMES LOGAN and WILLIAM BIDDIS', it being the same land which SILAS EBENEZER WEIR and MARTHA WEIR his wife, by deed, bearing the date of 3 Jan 1814, conveyed to JOHN LORAINE JR., surviving executor of teh last will and testament of ELIZABETH SHEWELL, dec. and held by JOHN LORAINE JR., in trust for Elizbeth S. Swift as if she were a feme sole. Whereas THOMAS L. BALDWIN, Tioga county, did on 16 Aug 1841 procure a warrant for 500 acres situtated in Middlebery Twp. Tioga county, and had it surveyed and all fees paid for same. There proved to be but 223 acres, a mistake because of no survey, therefore, Thomas L. Baldwin, is authorized to lay the balance of the warrant on any unappropriated lands in said county, free of charge. Whereas, JONATHAN BOOZE, late of the township of Newton, Cumberland county, died seized of certain real and personal estate without leaving a widow or any issue, and the said Jonathan did pronounce, utter and declare, during his last illness, and in the house of his habitation, in presence of JAMES YOUNG, JAMES NEISS and others, that it was his desire and wish, that after his death, his just debts should be paid, and the balance of his estate, whether real or personal should go to and be enjoyed by MRS. SARAH M'CUNE, as fully as he enjoyed the same, therefore, his nuncupative will shall be admitted to probate, and the estate given, devised and bequeathed to the said M'Cune, as if he had duly executed a will in writing. 25 Apr 1843. 175. An act to incorporate the Ligonier and Somerset turnpike road company. That JOHN M'FARLAND, NOAH MENDELL, RICHARD GRAHAM, SAMUEL P. CUMMINS, JAMES CLARK, WILLIAM HUSTON, JAMES GOODLEN, FREDERICK A. ROHRER, SAMUEL L. CARPENTER, JUDAH CASE, ROBERT WEST, JOSEPH NICEWONGER and JAMES FOWLER of Westmoreland county, and HENRY S. PICKENS, JOSEPH IMHOFF, DANIEL WEYAND, ISAAC ANKENY, JOHN NEFF, CHRISTIAN SEYLER, EMANUEL SMITH, WILLIAM PHILSON, SIMEON GEBHART, GEORGE CHORPENRING of Somerset county, are hereby appointed commissioners, to make a road from a point on the Stoystown and Greensburg turnpike between Ligonier and Laughlinstown, Westmoreland county, to about five miles from the borough of Somerset, on the Somerset and Johnstown turnpike in Somerset county. That JAMES BLACK, ROBERT MITCHELL, JESSE BEAVER, THOMAS COCHRAN and MITCHEL STEERIER of Perry county, are hereby appointed commissioners to view and lay out a state road from Rider's ferry to the west end of the Millerstown bridge. 6 Sep 1843. 176. An act for various purposes. To the payment of the Nicholson court and commissioners and printers bills for advertising lands, $4500.00 to be paid out of the sale of the lands of PETER BAYNTON and JOHN NICHOLSON, against which the state had a lien, and the state treasurer is hereby authorized to refund to GREENWOOD BELL, ABRAHAM HARTSOCK, THOMAS BLOOM, CALEB WAY and ROBERT ASKEY the money paid into the treasury by them, not to exceed $120.00, and to PEARLY JOHNSON, not to exceed $75.00 and HALSTEAD STARK, not exceeding $20.00, on compromises and purchases of their farms, they being the actual settlers and by law entitled to have their bonds cancelled. All sales of land made at Pittsburg, by the commissioners, purporting to lie in M'Kean county, are hereby annulled. 29 Sep 1843. RESOLUTIONS 4. Resolution relative to the fine imposed on GENERAL ANDREW JACKSON, at New Orleans. That our senators in congress be instructed and our representatives requested to use their influence for the passage of a law remitting the fine, with interest, imposed on General Jackson, by JUDGE HALL, at New Orleans. 6. Resolution to correct errors in act passed 1842, and for other purposes. That WILLIAM HAD be changed to WILLARD HALL, in the act passed 23 Jun 1842, so as to convey to SAMANTHA HALL, daughter of Willard Hall and POLLY HALL, of Sadsbury twp., Crawford county, all the rights and benefits of a child born in lawful wedlock. 10 Feb 1843. 14. A resolution relating to the election of township officers in the township of Manchester, York county. That WILLIAM W. WOLF is hereby authorized to act as judge, and JACOB NEIMAN and ANTHONY DESENBERG are hereby authorized to act as inspectors of the election. 16 Mar 1843. 15. A resolution relative to certain drafts of land situated in Schuylkill county. That SAMUEL B. FISHER be authorized to take copies of such separate or connected drafts now on file in the surveyor general's office, without payment of fees, as will enable him to finish and perfect a map of the county of Schuylkill. 16 Mar 1843. 29. A resolution legalizing the election of a Justice of the Peace, in the borough of Dillsburg, York county, and for other purposes. On the 17 Mar 1843, at an election held at the house of HENRY SIDLE, in the borough of Dillsburg, York county, RICHEY CLARK was elected justice of the peace for the borough, to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of WILLIAM W. HAMERSLY, ESQ., The resignation of Mr. Hamersly was not to take effect until the 1 Apr 1843, consequently, there was no vacancy at the time of the election, therefore the election was illegal, and no commission can issue to Mr. Clark without some legislative action. Therefore, the election is hereby declared valid. 19 Apr 1843. 30. A resolution relative to the place of meeting of the return judges in the twenty fourth congressional district. That the return judges, composed of the counties of Butler, Armstrong, Indiana and Clearfield, shall meet at the public house of HEZEKIAH CHRISTMAN, in the town of Smicksburg, in Indiana county, and so much of the law dividing the state into congressional districts as requires the return judges to meet in any other place is hereby repealed. 24 Apr 1843.
